There’s a famous Louisiana case out of NO about what is expected to remain with a house sale (permanently affixed if I remember correctly) unless excluded. Revolves around very expensive chandeliers that were found to be removed by the seller after the sale.

Anything that is attached to the house stays as it was when the house was shown. If you remove the mounts the buyer can come after you for two things

1. You damaged the house by leaving holes in the wall

2. You took something (the mounts) that were attached to the house.

As always get anything out of the norm in writing in the purchase agreement so everyone is on the same page

You’re going to worry about $300 worth of tv mounts screwed into your walls while trying to sell a house worth over 100K (assuming)?

Leave them bitches and if the buyer doesn’t want them, let the buyer take them down.

I left em. More of a pain in the arse to try and patch the holes and paint than just buy new mounts.

I would leave the tv mounts so you don’t have to patch and paint the holes.

We just bought a house in May and tv wall mounts were still there. They fit our tv perfectly.

I left mine mounted. Realtor said that was normal.

I know the general rule is anything that is attached to the wall stays with the house when it is sold. Does that usually apply to TV wall mounts as well? I don't mind leaving the mounts if that's the expectation. I suppose it could also come down to the buyer's preference. Just wanted to check what the usual practice is -- first time doing this in 18 years.

Unless specified as belonging to seller, best done in the purchase and sale agreement, all attachments are expected to be included.

I did sell a house, I had a gun safe, I didn’t like how low it sat on the floor, so I built a base to bring it up. Screwed into the studs, would take a bunch to remove. The realtor called and asked if the safe stayed, the buyer was Ex-military, I gave him the safe with the house.

Take the wall mounts if you want them. Leave them if it's too much of a hassle for you to take them out

I tell you what not to do, and that’s what the people we bought our house from did. frickers left the mounts but took the brackets for the TV’s.

I wouldn’t care one little bit. If the mounts are what stop you from buying, then ok.

If I ever sell my house, I'm going to leave the TV in the kitchen where it is with the remote.

It's not a smart TV. It was a pain in the arse to put up because it wasn't the correct bracket.

Yeah... it can stay.
