Selling a house and TV wall mounts

I know the general rule is anything that is attached to the wall stays with the house when it is sold. Does that usually apply to TV wall mounts as well?
I don't mind leaving the mounts if that's the expectation. I suppose it could also come down to the buyer's preference. Just wanted to check what the usual practice is -- first time doing this in 18 years.

Only if you leave the TVs. Take the mounts if not and patch and paint

Take anything you want. Just let the buyer know that it’s not included.

Since they are somewhat tv specific, I would take them down. Unless you are planning to leave the tv up, they would be kind of unsightly, too.

I’d leave the mounts in-place.
Unless it was previously agreed upon at the sale, purchasers have a reasonable expectation that you will either leave them (and picture hanging hardware as well) or completely patch and repair and repaint the areas where the hardware is.
My $0.02
Your results may vary.

I took the tvs, left the mounts. If you clarify before you sign the contract I'd say take the mounts.

I leave stuff like that in. Its part of the selling point of the house.
We sold our house, but the house we were already living in had its own furniture, so 90% of the furniture in the old house was going to be sold. We offered the new buyer the opportunity to buy the furniture plus threw in a bunch of items that were not valuable.
We assumed the buyer would want a couch or a coffee table. She wanted everything as it was the vibe of the house that sold her on it. She bought it all. Stress level gone. Only thing was I had to remove the playset, so I gave it to my BIL.

That’s a tough call. When I sold my house I took the doors off the hinges and the light fixtures. It turned into quite the ordeal with the buyer, and I’m not sure I’d do it again.

Yes. But if you are in the process of selling, you can actually negotiate that with the buyer. I’ve known people who left mounts and TVs due to negotiation, and known people who wanted to take the mounts.
My opinion- by the time you take the mounts down and patch and paint the walls it’s likely not worth the effort. Leave the mounts and buy new ones at the new house.

I don't want or need the mounts. I prefer to leave them. I was just seeking clarification as to what is the "norm" here.
Unfortunately, this was not discussed prior to the purchase agreement being signed.

Leave it and the TV
Don't drag that old TV model to your new house. Movers just going to crack the screen anyway.

Tv mounts are included with the house per the Louisiana Purchase Agreement. You would have to write them out of the contract if you want to keep them.

Mounts are pretty universal. I’d leave it and put a note that you left it as a courtesy.

Weird one... do you leave the part attached to the wall but take the part attached to the TV? Or leave the brackets and all the extra hardware because those universal mounts include all sorts of different bolts and spacers.
This is something I would work out ahead of time. Last time I bought a house we had two TVs with mounts (duh) left behind and then when we sold it we left the TVs and all.
Current house only has one TV mounted on the patio.. would just work with the buyer and see if they wanted it or not.

When I bought my current house, I was told up front the tv mounts were staying.
It was greatly appreciated, especially the outside one on the back deck.

A friend of mine had some nice exterior ceilings fans. Didn’t want them to go with the house. Before listing the home, removed those, installed the more less expensive fans.

I apologize for my sarcastic response, I didn’t see the username.
