Yeah, all the artists on that list that I love (and there are quite a few), they picked the absolute wrong songs.

Like Red Eyes by The War on Drugs is a great song, but Strangest Things is the best song.

4. “Good 4 U” – Olivia Rodrigo (2021)

Across the span of the 21st century thus far, I've been aged 22-48. I looked this person up as it's the first song I don't remember hearing.

There is no way the 4th best rock song in a 26 year period would have gone unnoticed by me. I understand my demographic has shifted in terms of how things are marketed to me, but I don't understand how this could be possible.

Therefore this list is garbage.

That song came out when I was 23. Still never heard it.
maybe something there. I’ve never heard of any of those songs that were released post college graduation.

List makes me think though, are bands like the killers and Green Day going to be considered classic rock one day? My favorite genre is classic rock and have a YT playlist of hundreds of songs and I have a fair amount of 80s music on there

The greatest rock of the 21st century isn't made by bands on major/larger label contracts -- like most of the best from the 50s through the 90s -- and that's what Rolling Stone advertises.

14. “Portions for Foxes” – Rilo Kiley (2004)

Rilo Kiley might be my all time favorite band, but it’s laughable that they should be anywhere near the top 10 of a Rolling Stone greatest songs of a century list. Greatest early 2000’s college radio indie pop? Absolutely! Greatest of the 21st Century is a huge stretch.

This list was solely made to create irrational anger/confusion for clicks. Don’t give it to them. Move on like it doesn’t exist.

Having The Grudge on there (which I love) instead of Lateralus is certainly a choice off that record

I'm guessing this is here because Rick Rubin produced it and was in the video. Definitely not rock.

Doubtful. I listen to too many genres for that to be the case. Maps is a great song though, so I still question your taste.
