Representatives for Pastore confirmed the news, which was first reported by Deadline, to PEOPLE. Pastore was found dead in his Bronx, N.Y., home on Saturday, Aug. 1, by a neighbor who said he became concerned after not hearing from Pastore for several days, according to Deadline.

He was one of the nicest guys,” he said. “Very charitable, very friendly and he would help anybody,” McGowan continued, adding that Pastore was a veteran. Pastore played Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero, Tony Soprano’s best friend-turned-mob-informant, on the iconic HBO series The Sopranos.

His onscreen death was very difficult to watch. Glad he had a much longer run IRL. He had this kind of decency about him you could see on his face. RIP.

This was posted on the Movie/TV board yesterday, but Big Pussy's real death belongs here too.

Did he get turtle and drama to bid on sandy koufax game jersey because he said sandy was in his death bed. Turned out it was his dog that got sick

quote:At first, for sure. It was hard to imagine one of the superfriends being whacked by Superman but I was just thinking yesterday that I've seen the whole series between five and ten times. Crazy. By the time the fix was in for Pussy, he was already slipping on the Sopranos and of no use to them, and thinking he was smarter so by that logic he had it coming. James Gandolfini was a tough loss too, he was at Bacchus Mardi Gras.
His onscreen death was very difficult to watch.

It’s the Sopranos. It’s up there with Game of Thrones in the “anyone can die” casts.

Not the same guy.
You’re thinking of Louis Lombardi who played Cousin Ronnie in Entourage and also played Skip in The Sopranos
