His Christopher Walken story from The Rundown set is pretty damn funny.

The "steam" part of the conversion was definitely Walken hitting on him. I was at an Off Broadway play with a guy friend of mine in the mid 2000's and Walken was across the room at intermission and sent his assistant over to ask my friend if he would like to join Mr. Walken for drinks after the show. Walken smiled and waved as the assistant was talking to us. My friend declined and we were just kind of shocked and laughing at the brazenness of it all. True story.

Gena Rowlands and the kid are what sell this movie. That and the gritty realism of NYC at the time and the cinematography. Gena Rowlands is a badass bitch without sacrificing being a woman. The way she casually shoots the guy in the elevator while leaving the apartment in the end is what I remember the most when I watched this as a kid. She was great in it. As much as I like Sharon Stone I couldn't get through the remake. It stunk.

ETA: Also when watching this as a kid it threw me to see Buck Henry as a serious actor(the father of the kid) because I had only seen him on Saturday Night Live.
I haven't had Godfathers since LSU back in the late 80s/early 90's.

Watched Wild Card last night and it was very enjoyable. It was a remake of Heat with Burt Reynolds and Peter MacNicol(who was hilarious in the original and still remains a great actor). Also filmed partly in New Orleans but I couldn't see it by the setting.

Small roles by Jason Alexander, Anne Heche, and Stanley Tucci with Milo Ventimiglia as the main douche. I think Statham does the best hand to hand action in the industry. His moves are artful and seem to land swiftly and with impact. On to the next missed one.
Friend of mine works in corporate for Love's Truckstop and says they just opened a new location in Mandeville off the newest Interstate exit. Hardees and Godfathers Pizza I think. The only time I ever had Hardees was for an LSU/Miss State game 10 or 12 years ago in Columbus MS. Had the porkchop and the chicken fried steak biscuits for breakfast if I remember correctly and they were damn good. Never had the burgers or regular menu though and they are the same company as Carl's Jr I think. I think its an east/west of the Mississippi thing like the Hellman's/Best Foods arrangement. Might have to try it out on my next visit. I don't recall the Northshore ever having a Hardees.

That leaves my never tried fast food list at

In n out
Shake Shack
Carl's Jr./ Hardees
Culver's
Jack in the Box
Steak n Shake

Wendy's and Sonic used to be favorite go to but in the last 5 years they have both significantly dropped in flavor and quality IMO. A good fast food burger is a guilty pleasure for me. 5 Guys (although no drive through) remains my go to fix when I have a quick craving.

I love how it took a fun jab at himself in Spy (2015).

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie. Melissa McCarthy cracked me the frick up with the physical comedy and her delivery and Statham did a great job as always.

And the Expendables. I've been watching all the Statham movies I've missed over the years. Just watched Killer Elite last night as a matter of fact. Statham is a great action guy.
When I was in high school in the 80's, my father served as foreman for the Grand Jury in our parish. The only thing in life he ever forbade me to do was live in a trailer or in a trailer park because of the amount of crime and the situations he witnessed that came before the grand jury
After looking closely it does seem to be Ai. I came across another video of New Orleans Mardi Gras that also looked perfect and organized- i.e. nothing like real life.. However, I watched Ro's Sambadrome parade last year on a live feed and the float sizes, costumes and amount of people are comparable. and the Sambadrome is real but maybe not the perfect fireworks

I only watched the first few minutes and did not consider AI being a possibility. Welcome to 2026 I suppose.
Don't get me wrong- I love New Orleans and Mardi Gras- but the sheer size of the floats and the intricacy of the costumes and number of marchers is pretty astounding. What they do better:

The floats are bigger and better because they specially built an arena (The Sambadrome) that could handle them and the marchers. I know we couldn't fit these on the street, but Canal Street could handle bigger floats. Only a few floats from Bacchus could even stand next to these and look impressive. The viewing stands look pretty amazing as well. The scale of it is impressive

The costumes are amazing and the ladies are in much better shape than the Mande Milkshakers(no shade intended:)

Having never been I'm not sure the atmosphere is as drunken, debauched or relaxed as New Orleans Mardi Gras, but it seems like they take their dancing and samba clubs a bit too seriously. Also not sure how much of a family activiity it is although I could be wrong. This footage is from yesterday and there is still tons more to come.

I was in 7th grade when that first ABC Wednesday Movie of the Week pilot aired. Man we loved us some bionic man.

I don't remember seeing this so I looked it up. Apparently there was a a pilot and 2 other TV movies throughout 1973 before the series first episode in January of 1974. After some searching I found the pilot and 2 of the tv movies online and watched 2 of them. Very different from the series. Different Rudy Wells actors- Martin Balsam for the pilot, and another for the Six Million Dollar Man- Wine, Women, and War movie. Steve Austin was a little bit more angry and adjusting to his bionics, and the WW &W movie was much more trying to be a spy movie ( a la James Bond) in style. It even had Britt Eklund who was Goodnight from the Man With the Golden Gun and David Mccallum who was Ilya Kuryakin in the Man From Uncle TV show. The intro music was a theme song by Dusty Springfield and was a seventies disco trip. I also watched the first episode of the series where it became more like I remember (without the sound effect yet as another poster stated).

The Bionic Woman series is in HD and found on Amazon Prime. I watched the first two episodes. The website I found to watch the Six Million Dollar Man is missing some episodes after the 3rd season so I won't be able to watch after that. It's not as hard to watch these as I thought it would be. The premise and the execution holds up even if production is a bit dated. But still way ahead of its time.

I can imagine Jesus saying that while he's strapped to the beam. He would be so proud of Merica.
This was one of my favorite memories of childhood television. Barely old enough to remember watching the original shows but remember the big ones like the Bigfoot saga, the Fembots, and the Seven Million Dollar Man Barney. This show was way ahead of its time for Sci=Fi just like Star Trek was. Who didn't run slow motion and make the bionic sounds when slo-mo fighting with your friends? But I always wondered why they didn't use more of the clip of him running fast in real time (sped up on film) like they did on the intro.

This came up in my feed on youtube and even though it is looped the remade music is banging and it's a great two minute watch. I wish they could remake this with respect and the spirit of the original, but modern remakes don't have a great track record. The Bionic Woman attempt really sucked, but that was due to really bad casting for the lead for the most part. Still one of the best tv shows ever. Lee Majors was great when he played Steve Austin seriously.

It took me three tries to make it through Season 1 over a 3 year period. I'm about to finish Season 4 tonight. I think finishing Season 2 was the point where I had to stop trying and it became really enjoyable. Still not living up to the hype that everyone says IMO but still a high quality show.
this entire website is self described alpha males losing their shite about everything small on a daily basis.
