This explains SO MUCH!

I’ll take the sword but I get to pick which type.

Every scenario like this is always properly answered with "it depends."

We talking armored fight? Light armor? Heavy? Are both combatants armored? Etc.

Polearms have length and those, while not on your list, are probably superior in most scenarios.

Spear or similar pollen is almost always the correct answer.

So in this case long handled axe since it is the next closest thing.

An axe is just a sharpened hammer. How is that not better than hammer?

Not so much a mace but more like a sledge hammer type weapon with some type of point on each end.

The impact would cause damage in armor, damage shields, easily pary swords, and ultimately cave skulls in

bow and arrow from the castle wall

pole arms are a help with defending mounted attackers, though

naw, I'm staying at the castle, y'all go beat the crap out of each other

If the mace was something like bear spray and not that tiny stuff that only goes three or four feet, then I’d go with mace.

That stuff burns and once blinded your adversary is at a severe disadvantage

Depends on my foe.

If they are in armor I'm taking the mace

I just feel like the mace is the most versatile, it starts for me a base load out.

Yeah, whatever the merits of maces, hammers, axes, pole arms, etc., it does seem like most of history's great warriors were swordsmen.

You’re probably an okay irl guy but I wish you would:
1 Lose function of your fingers and voice so you can’t use a computer anymore.
2 Keep your appendages and voice but completely lose interest in this site.
3 Simply quit posting dumb crap.
