Pre guano gunpowder, would you rather an AXE, MACE or SWORD in a fight?

For me it would be a mace hammer.
You can just swing that thing without being to precise.
Yes the trade off is weight, but I lift, BJJ and have moderately good cardio

Dual-handed?
Your overall DP would be awesome but DPS and DEF will take a hit.
If you are willing to sacrifice that, yes might be fun.
