The new bill, named the Emergency Money for the People Act is being introduced by Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif.
“A one-time, twelve hundred dollar check isn’t going to cut it,” said Khanna in a statement. “Americans need sustained cash infusions for the duration of this crisis in order to come out on the other side alive, healthy, and ready to get back to work.
Every American age 16 and older making less than $130,000 annually would receive at least $2,000 per month. Married couples earning less than $260,000 would receive $4,000 per month.
Families with children would get $500 per child per month for up to three children.
quote:
The payments would be guaranteed for six months and continue until the employment-to-population ratio for people age 16 and older is above 60%, the congressmen said.

That won't pass and we can't afford it.

Yeah that bill will be stuffed with a ton of pork but I would welcome an extra $4k per month. Would definitely put a nice dent into my debt.

We don't have to be able afford it. That's the beauty of debt!
Free money for errr' one!

How can anyone in their right mind believe we can afford that?!
Completely against this, and Scruffy is someone who would receive a check.

What 16 year old makes $130,000 per year?
What 16 year old needs $2,000 per month?
Don't 16 year olds count as "children" and shouldn't their parents get $500 per month instead?

Start the printer machine. Hyperinflation be damned.

Just print more money right?

Ok, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of people out there who decide that their steady income of $2000/4000 per month is just fine and dandy, so they won't pursue work.

Don’t matter if it passes I still won’t get any money. Maybe on the 3rd go around they will give everyone money

Now that I have my stimulus money and unemployment rolling in, all I want now is my Katrina SBA loan ($4500 balance) forgiven and my wife’s student loan (not government) as well. That seems fair. In fact I think we should be able to individually negotiate the terms of our stimulus. Because we don’t all want and need the same things.

I think it should be 26 since they are considered children in terms of insurance. Make up your minds dems.
