Major Mariachi Talent gets Detained by ICE

But He did Sing the National Anthem

Apparently, this dude and his family came to the states when he was four, and got tourist visa, but they overstayed. Parents deserve some blame for this one. Apparently, he had a Mexico license (WTF?). I get and agree with the ICE movement in principle, but who knows about this one?

Let him get an immigration lawyer and get legal.

If we don’t draw a line then people will constantly sneak their small children in with them to try to do the same thing.

Same issue as with the birth tourism to get your child born in the U.S.

They had 16 years to do something about it.

He should have been deported after the tourist visa was expired.

Also, he is a mariachi player. The USA gains nothing by him being here and loses nothing by deporting him.

He is either here legally or he isn’t.

The case illustrates the precarious situation of non-citizens living in the U.S.

It sure does illustrate the precarious situation they put themselves in. The USA did not ask them to come here illegally or to illegally overstay a tourism visa. They decided to do that. Many have had several instances, like the guy here in question, to obtain legal status, but never did. It is not ICE's fault, or Pres Trump's fault, or my fault, or anyone else's fault but theirs. They gotta go back and I feel zero sympathy.

Pretty easy closed and shut case if you have a iq above room temperature. He came here illegally, he must go back.

I love they way people know they're here illegally, then play the victim when arrested for it...

If he was very talented he’d use the thump of the nightsticks as percussion.

What's to know? Was he here legally...NO so therefore he is a illegal immigrant and has to go.

There are going to be a lot of these situations in the years to come. Thousands. And they’ll all be captured and uploaded to social media for sympathy. But if we have any chance of preserving this country for our children and grandchildren, they must go if they came here illegally or overstayed on a VISA.

I think they feel if they have been here long enough, they get a pass or get grandfathered in, but really just have gotten away with it for that long. Fill in any other crime you've been doing for years, still a crime. YGTGB.

Is he going to reimburse the cost of his education? All of it. Possibly including health care and free lunches? Transportation to school.
