What makes you think people with their dogs are seeking attention?

God you people sound pathetic right now. Dogs are better to be around than your babies or toddlers

I’m routinely at restaurants inside with screaming babies, children on iPads with sound on, and adults hacking up a lung while complaining about “allergies”, but my clean, shed free dog quietly lying down under the table outside is apparently the greatest social sin imaginable

A few years ago, we moved into a new neighborhood. We were out in our yards when a man and his wife were walking there dog. I kid you not… the man introduced himself and his dog, and then his wife.
I feel sorry for his wife every time I see her.
PS - they are older and retired so no need to ask for pics !

dog sitting outside.

I don't even consider this to be bringing a dog to a restaurant/pub. Now those frickers that put the dog carrier in the booth, or haul their little POS into the grocery store can all get bent. Worse than people who put their kids in shopping cart baskets with their dirty arse shoes.

Now this makes more sense to me. If he’s with me and I need to go to the store, sweet boy stays in the car. But most of the restaurants I take him to, even nicer ones, literally have dog bowls they will bring with water when they see him. People getting bent out of shape about that is hilarious to me

I must be weird because when I walk our dog I'd rather no one sees us at all. I especially don't want to be around other dogs or kids.

Just sat down at a pizza joint on the square in Oxford and there’s an mf’er in here with 2 giant doodles sitting at the bar.

How often do you need to go to a restaurant?

I’m pretty sure that your dog is not the type people complain about

Most people, no. But, multiple people on this thread have continued crying even with that caveat, so here we are

Too be fair, that group virtue signals like it breathes. It is as deeply ingrained in them as their DNA.

Pet fanatics are weird arse people. Especially the ones who refer to their pets as “my babies.”

I have been in Home Depot a few times where someone's dog takes a massive shite on the floor, and they just leave it. The workers told me it happens all the time, and they have to clean it up.
tbh at least the dog doesn’t really know any better

We had people shite on the floor or in the elevator at the public library - but they probably weren’t right

I don't take my dogs out in public, but I have one mutt that makes sure he's the center of attention.

Bend down to pet him, he head butts you. Don't bend down to pet him, he jumps up and rams his snout in your butthole. Then takes off to sprint in circles around the house or yard.

My friends and family recognize the art in his assholery.

That’s the vibe i get from my neighbor when he takes his dog Shipley out. They have a weird bond.

The OT is known for being irrationally judgmental

Imagine worrying about someone having a dog in public....
