Currently 38 but I realized this three years ago. If you own your own business I get it. If you work for a large corporation, there are zero good reasons to devote your life to work instead of your family. My career will likely stall where I am but I truly don’t care because my kids are very young and I plan to enjoy this limited time.

I was diagnosed with this at 25, I’m 38 now. Had a lower scope in 2020 and an upper scope in 2023, came back with nothing.

Diet is a major factor and mine has been extremely clean for the past 10 years. But I still have issues, especially in the morning. I always have to wake up several hours before I actually need to leave the house which is a huge inconvenience.

I’ve learned not to eat certain things unless I’m at home. If I’m traveling or going out for the day/night I just pop a couple of peptos or Immodium to avoid issues. It still sucks having to constantly worry and plan around it.

I worked from home for 5 straight years up until last summer. It absolutely sucks. I’m a health freak so having to pack up all of my meals is a hassle and it often interrupts my lunch hour workout plans.

Also, they made us go back just to still spend all day in teams meetings and conducting business via computer software, email, and phone calls. My team is also scattered across four states and we support people in all four states as well. Little to no in person interaction with peers and stakeholders. It’s retarded. But hey, at least the commercial real estate CEO’s aren’t losing their asses.
