OT Parenting Question: How would you respond to this situation with a 10 year old boy?

My son (10) got in trouble for pretending to vape with a lemonade flavoring packet today at school. He and his buddies were being dumbasses at the lunch table.
My son already did a research project earlier this year on the dangers of smoking and vaping, so I don't think that would mean anything to him.
Besides calling him a knucklehead and talking to him about peer pressure and making good choices, what else would the OT do? If anything....

Give him some Beechnut and tell him vapes are for figs.

Make him smoke an entire carton of cigarettes in one sitting

have him snort the lemonade packet since he thinks drugs are cool.

We used to do this same thing with Smarties candy. My parents never really told me not to smoke, but I never had an interest in it. Sounds to me like he was joking around with his buddies.

Do you know who the father is?

Depends on the motive behind pretending to vape.
To be an idiot: tell him to stop being an idiot.
To be cool or making fun of someone else: need to set him straight.

I'd put him in rehab tonight, but you do you.

Right...I should have included this. It's an issue with him wanting to fit in. The only time he ever gets in trouble is when he does something to impress others. It's rare he has issues at school or anywhere really.

How does one pretend to vape with a lemonade packet? Where does the vapor come from?
Either way it's a tween being stupid. Tell him to not get caught being stupid and that vapes make you gape.

Tie him to a tree in your back yard and light it on fire

Tell your son to hit on his teacher.

Buy him some candy cigarettes?

Tell him if he gets expelled for doing dumb shite, then he’s going off to boarding school.

What kinda trouble are we talking about?

How much trouble? Was he given detention or suspended?
Either way, I would let him off with a warning. If he did it again and got in more trouble, I would take away privileges for some length of time.

Pretty sure there’s a King Of The Hill episode that will point you in the right direction.
