No reason anyone should be upset about no beverage service on an hour flight.
Just don’t tell them that we are all out of coffee.

I think I can go an hour or two without biscoff cookies or those nasty arse caramel stroopwafels they serve. I’ll be fine.
Now I am pissed that I wouldn’t get my coffee lol

Airlines have been reducing what you get for a regular ticket for a long time. Who remembers the days when you got a real meal on plane? Some of those meals were absolutely delicious.

Haven't the majors been doing this for a while now?
Last few times I flew from Lafayette to Houston or Atlanta they would come on early in the flight and say something like "we're expecting a little turbulence about halfway thru so we wont be doing drink service... BUT if you want something, feel free to order it"

Good. I hate seeing every idiot tear into those things like it’s impossible to go 45 minutes without shoving food down their fat face.

No problem with this. Don’t need the gay stewardess bumping into everyone or taking up the aisle if I have to pee because fatties can’t go an hour without a snack.

If lazy people cant drive 5 hours, then they deserve to get nothing.

Americans can go 2 hours without eating and drinking… I’ve seen the science.
Humans outside the US routinely do this.
Went to a 5K charity event a few years ago and there was a big girl walking it. Saw her pull a pack of some kind of protein paste and squeeze it into her mouth. I immediately thought… America is truly fricked.

It's astonishing how many people think this is is due to logistical issues rather than cost cutting methods to increase revenue and that it has anything to do with people not being able to go 90 minutes without eating something.

Well at least they don’t have to hide behind the guise of turbulence anymore as an excuse to withhold main cabin service.

At least I dont have to listen to 9 people around me order ginger ale and chomp on pretzels anymore. Like wtf is yalls problems you want that nasty arse sugary soda with tasteless carbs on the side?
Now just ban fatties taking a piss 10 mins after takeoff and youre improving even more.

Honestly on flights that short you often weren’t getting served anything but an express service anyway. Even then the “flight attendants will remain seated because of turbulence” announcement was frequent. What is missing here is full service for the 350-500 mile flights. This impacts BTR/MSY-ATL so this is an upgrade for us in SELA.

The lack of snacks on short flights is ok, but that lack of any beverages can be really miserable if the flights are delayed by weather and the dry cabin air can leave you really thirsty.

OK, I will give you the first point only by having observed them act out the safety brief and presumably they have been trained on how to help in an emergency.
But in probably 100s of flights I have never seen an FA "clean the plane" other than to collect the trash from what they distribute as food service. So if there is no food service, I would expect the cleanliness of the plane to be dealt with exactly as it has been done for years: by the cleaning crew when the plane lands.

Not to mention this includes economy plus who pay extra and there are only a few seats. Seems like a cheap thing to do to make the flying experience tolerable.

The first time I flew Delta from Nola to Atlanta we were served a hot lunch with silverware and cloth napkin in economy, times have changed.

How are they maintaining passenger safety? They make 2 announcements, walk up and down the aisle before take off and landing, and then are on standby should some shite go down. Again, they have the time to provide an actual service for the people on the flight, not just make announcements and make safety checks for the airlines liability should an accident happen.
