Are you going to not fly Delta because you can't get a free snack?

Do you not see that this has nothing to do with peanuts or snacks on a small 45 min flight but more about the overarching trend that every tkme things get more expensive for companies, they find new ways to offer less service than they did before and will never revert those decisions even once prices stabilize and enough of these small tiny instances over time eventually leads to major negative consequences for us the consumers?

There is no need to do food service on short flights. The carts also block the aisle.

2023 their net profit was 4.6 billion
2024, it was 3.46 billion
What was 2025? Oh it was 5.05 billion.

at the expense of the consumer
I have just grown so tired of the slow, half percent drift of reducing consumer experiences for profit.
It just sucks.

And Q1 2026 is negative 289 million
The obsession with profit when it comes to private businesses is odd. What's the comfortable amount of profit the OT thinks is acceptable for an airline?
Even Loss leaders on price like southwest have massively changed strategies over the last two years.

What is the solution? Less net profit? Offering a fare $5 more to include unlimited drinks and snacks? Offering drinks for purchase on short flights?

I’m good with this. Snack/beverage service on a short flight has always been more of an annoyance than anything else.
And if you really need a Bloody Mary on that early flight to Houston? Get help.

It's not an obsession. Its an observation. It also removes the "we have to do this" excuse.

Maybe?

You know some version of this is coming

When adjusted for inflation, it's 40% cheaper to fly now than ten years ago. Seems to me competition has driven down cost and if a change like this keeps flying more affordable I'm all for it.

If it does, I can guarantee you most people would opt to save the $5

quote:It's weird to me that people demand this as a service. Not only are the wares low quality frankenfood, but it's a pain in the arse to deal with and it blocks the aisle for the restroom. Bring your own fricking snack, fatty, if you can't go an hour without one.
No more snacks on short Delta flights

Their snacks were terrible anyway. I'm glad to not be served food by them anymore.
