What a tragedy. A nation so rich in resources and a population that is so poor and impoverished.

Bernie is gonna put some of these people up in one of his vacation homes, right?

One of the funniest things about the American left is thsir failure to realize that Sweden, Norway and Denmark use what's basically a flat tax to raise those revenues. They tax income at the equivalent of $55k USD at the highest marginal rate. The US taxes income 9x that at the highest rate.

Sweden, Norway and Denmark do the polar opposite of Bernie's "make the rich pay for it all" and instead make everyone pay in.

I guess it's easier to spend a lot of money when it's someone else's.

Maybe the rank and file fail to realize that, the nefarious actors like Bernie will keep moving the definition of the "rich" until it encompasses those who own a home and a retirement account.

That’s absolutely correct. Here is a great article explaining the Scandinavian tax structure... LINK

So when Bernie says:
quote:

George Stephanopoulos: “I can hear the Republican attack ad right now: ‘He wants America to look more like Scandinavia.’” Bernie Sanders: “What’s wrong with that?”

He’s saying he wants to tax the poor and middle class the same as the rich in this country. How does the left just fail to miss this point?

This is really no surprise.
During my years on earth, I’ve known a lot of people who have lived and or worked in countries that are now in shambles..,Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, Afghanistan,... and all have said what great places they were in the 50s, 60s and early seventies. Then the nuts took over promising everybody a better life and look what hzppened. And yet to this day, people in this country think that if we could just make America like these places, we would be greater than we are now.
I just don’t get it.

I love how they idolize the guy with 4 houses as a champion of the poor who leads by example.

Dear lord...why even live in a country. Just go fricking live off the grid with your vast riches You obviously can make everything a country can provide on your own.

You're a greedy, selfish golem. It's gross. I don't make that much money, but I make enough to the point where I'm not angrily counting up every penny I have to give to the taxman, thinking about how poor people are keeping me getting that XL fricking Yeti this year.

I bet you go to church and claim to be Christian, too..

A "maize spring" is coming.

A culture of laziness is the only reason it hasn't.

It took 25 years for them to go from one of the worlds top economies to a complete third world shithole, but these dumbass leftists in this country keep with the "Its not reeeeal socialism".

Go live there before you lecture me about the perils of capitalism.

I've found that the louder someone squawks about how socialism is just and capitalism is evil is directly proportional to the amount of wealth they or their family have made through capitalism. aka, "frick you, I got mine."

See: Most of Hollywood.

The reason why is quite simple - the military owns everything. Venezuela isn't a socialist state so much as it is a military dictatorship.

In situations like that people don't revolt, they try to leave and that's pretty much what everyone is doing when they can.

Can you at least be honest and admit that thisnis what all socialist countries devolve into?

Oh Jesus fricking Christ. The power the military has is directly from the left wing socialist kooks who gave it to them so that the peons would not rise up and kill them.
