The study also found significant gaps in knowledge of the Holocaust. 11% of US adults and over one-fifth of Millennials (22%) haven’t heard or are not sure if they have heard of the Holocaust.
I'm going to guess that these 11% and 22% primarily live within walking distance of at least 3 pawn shops and 4 payday loan places.
Also, aren't all Millennials adults now?

English and Math are the only two subjects pushed hard in school anymore.
Not that it shows...

Doesn't surprise me. But these people can rattle off three dozen craft beers and a dozen bands no one's ever heard of.

Like, if you place it in a lineup of a dozen concentration camps, I'm not sure I could, either.

Doesn't surprise me...all my kids do in school is read, read, read and between math/history/science they spend about an hr a day.
All the reading is so the school can get a performing well grade in those damn state standardized tests...which are tied back to funding.

Yeah, I'm curious as to how they define 'identifying' Auschwitz. Is it asking for knowledge of existence, or to be able to recognize 'Albrech Macht Frei' on the gates or something?

I thought Auschwitz is how you feel the day after getting shitefaced?
Posted on 4/12/18 at 9:42 am to GetCocky11
Yikes how can you not know Auschwitz was a concentration camp?!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm... interesting.... I wonder which generation taught the millennials so poorly in school
Seeing the ages of all the teachers fricking their students, it's millennials that are in the schools teaching.
I also have several friends that are principals, all millennials.

Boomers never want to answer that one

And this is where the boomers need to be held accountable.

While approximately six million Jews were exterminated in the Holocaust, nearly one-third of all Americans (31%) and over four-in-ten Millennials (41%) believe that two million Jews or less were killed during the Holocaust.
Without using a computer can you identify:
a)approximate number of casualties in the civil war
b)approximate number of casualties in WWII
c)% of american indians exterminated
d)approximate number of casualties in the spanish inquisition?
No didn't think so. So shut up. This is a pointless statistic and is completely irrelevant.

I'd say 95% of people who read this could name more Kardashians than city councilmen in their city.
The country sucks right now with the apathy of civics and politics.

I wonder what percentage of millennials have never heard of the term microaggression?
Zero%

And 62% of Americans believe Global Warming is real!!!!
We're screwed.

They don't teach history anymore. They literally will not allow teachers to teach the material. All social studies/history classes now are just scope and sequence. That's straight from a history teacher's mouth yesterday.

If you asked me how many jews were killed during the holocaust, my answer would be "a couple million"
I have no clue the number.
For the Auschwitz question, they say "couldnt identify Auschwitz"
What exactly does that mean?
