People resort to bitching about who fricked who over and whose fault it is. Ain’t helping shite, just fomenting dissonance between age groups. We should be focusing on why things like this are allowed to happen. I would go all the way back to John Dewey and his view for education to be more progressive during the first massive progressive movement in American history around the turn of the 20th Century.

It’s an area of northern Poland that use to be German Pomerania. The Danzig Corridor (also called the Polish Corridor) was created following WWI to give the new state of Poland access to the Baltic sea. This corridor cut off Easten Prussia from the rest of Germany.
This is it on a map prior to WWII.

It was one of their thrusts into Poland. The Germans style of warfare is commonly known as “blitzkreig”. But they themselves sought was they called “kesselschlacht” or as we say “cauldron battles”. In short, they believed in deep armored thrusts followed on by regular infranty to break the enemy forces into encircled and isolated groups which could be destroyed in turn. This style of warfare was clearly used in the invasion of Poland as you can see on this map.
Note the two main thrusts came from north and south to meet at Warsaw. Later on in Russia it was the use of the “cauldron battle” strategy that produced the huge encirclements that netted hundreds of thousands of Red Army prisoners in the opening phases of Barbarossa. Of course the Soviets learned their lessons from this and employed the same tactic to drestroy 6th Army at Stalingrad and much later to destroy Army Group Center in Operation Bagration in 1944.

Yeah, I know about the majority of that you posted, Darth. I just couldn’t remember if the Danzig Corridor was where they attacked first. I know that the point of Danzig was a big deal in the lead up to the war, Hitler wanted that big time because of its importance strategically and to German and especially Prussian pride.
As a tanker, I would assume WWII is by far your favorite war to study. Which battle is your favorite to study? Gotta imagine it’d be Kursk, nay?
