It’s worth saving.

Mardi Gras has been phenomenal this year.

All people.
All walks of life.
All colors
All creeds
All codes

Partying together in harmony.

There’s no need to be miserable and divided everyday.

Some days are better than others, but weekends like this weekend remind me why I choose to stay and fight the good fight.

I'm sure they do via hotel taxes. Tourism will only go so far to prop up an economy though, maybe Vegas, but Nola isn't Vegas.

People will still come
You won’t, but folks from out of state will
I’m not going to halt a trip to NO over another $20-30 on a room

I want to see more of it where I live

And mandatory karate

In New Orleans? Avoiding it, mostly.

I would like to make a trip with my brother to the WW2 museum. Other than a concert now and then, I'm good with staying away. Let the tourists and Teedy's crowd have it.

I'm too old for the partying anyway

ETA: FWIW...I'm glad there are still people like you willing to fight the good fight. I just don't have any family connection to the city, and when I've gone I never fell in love with it.

I have one good news and two items of bad news for you. The good is that you are right, it is worth fighting for.

The bad is that you are not in a position to do it, and those that are in a position to do it do not want it done, and would kill you for trying.

Tell that to the four people that were shot on the Bacchus route last night.

Already doing that, along with gouging rental cars and landing fees at MSY.

The NOLA apologists who hope their positive rhetoric will protect their home or business values, or perhaps keeping the Saints is their motivation are comical. It’s a failed inefficient city by any metric, and some of you advocate higher tourism taxes to give Teedy more money for her corrupted use?

When the going gets tough you should run away scared and make fun of it to make yourself feel better.

Solid life philosophy.

Mardi Gras is the reason you find redeeming qualities that explains a lot since it’s an abnormality for the actual NO experience.

Jazz Fest is the redeeming quality of New Orleans. There are beautiful, utterly unique areas and qualities to the city. If you can’t appreciate, you are blind. The city remains one of the great food cities in the world.
