These people ride a train or have drivers. They don't pay for their own gas.

Does it ever get old pretending you're rich enough for the policies you embrace to benefit you? I'd imagine it gets exhausting.

Pretending? I’m exempt from the “benefits” in this plan because of my income. And I don’t make some crazy salary.

lolol...

Really incapable people need government, like you. The rest of us would rather there be far fewer policies, not more.

Pretty sure there will be at least 50 votes against bringing this to the Senate floor. I can see 51 with Manchin. This is grandstanding.

Of course, this proposal also assumes that businesses never pass on taxes to the consumer. This will increase prices at the pump. Dems from more moderate jurisdictions would never vote for this if they wanted to stay in office.

I wasn't talking about this stupid tax. I won't benefit either, nor have I benefitted from those stimulus payments that went out.

I'm just asking, in general, does it get old white knighting for the ultra wealthy, their grip on government, their grip on stagnant income, their abuse of tax laws to make themselves even more wealthy...none of which benefit you in the least....does that become as tiresome as it seems?

I do really well for myself. My wife has a great job, too. We do much better than most in this country. But I sure as frick am not rich and I'll be damned if I'll vote for policies that don't benefit me.

Like politicians don't abuse their power to get wealthy.

Will they also pay the oil companies to produce when the price of oil drops below the ‘15-‘19 average? Oil companies might go for it if we risk out the bottom.

So instead you vote for policies that take money out of my pocket.

Who do you think is affected the worst by the soaring gas and energy prices along with the surging inflation, rich or poor people?

It's your democrat president and congress that are fricking things up for the common man, you're just in some strange state of denial about it

While I do not support this...

Would this low key accidently bring "support" of domestic production from among the general population. Considering once you start sending Americans checks for nothing they will not want them to stop and furthermore would have an interest in having them increase...?

Just provoking thought here - again I do NOT support.

Wait a second.

If the evil “big oil” companies can simply raise the price of oil whenever they want, then why the hell did they “let” it go into the teens and single digits in April 2020? Was it all just for fun and games?

I need a bit more of an explanation from her team of experts who are no doubt well versed in the energy markets.

The plan will require oil companies that produce or import at least 300,000 barrels of oil per day to pay a per-barrel tax equal to 50% of the difference between the current price of a barrel and the average price from the years 2015 to 2019
Want to have an oil shortage? Because this is how you get an oil shortage. These people are drunk with stupidity.

If you saw your neighbor's wife getting raped, would you say "not my problem" or would you try to help her?

At what income level does one start to happily OVERPAY taxes? Give us a number so we can know who we're talking about here.

And you call "the rich" greedy?

So you're against SS, veterans benefits (presumning you're not a vet), pre-k funding, socialized medicine, disaster relief (not in your congressional district) etc?

“Big Oil’s first priority is to maximize profits,” Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, tweeted on Wednesday. “We can’t let them use Putin’s invasion as an excuse to pad their bottom line with war-fueled profits,” she said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. “So I’m working with Senate Democrats on a windfall-profits tax.”

These people are so fricking retarded.

"No, we aren't going to do things that would help the American economy and lower costs. We're going to do things that harm the American economy and raise costs."

frick these people.
