In what ways does voting Dem right now benefit you if you make a lot of money?

Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Elizabeth Warren say they’re working on a proposed new tax targeting profits being reaped by oil companies as crude prices spike amid geopolitical tensions.

quote:

The revenue raised from the tax would be sent to individuals quarterly. The payments would phase out for individuals earning more than $75,000 or couples earning $150,000. Whitehouse, a Rhode Island Democrat, estimates that single filers would receive approximately $240 a year, and joint filers would get about $360.

Which would then go to paying for petroleum products at their new, higher prices.

Jeeze.

Did we not learn anything from the windfall profits tax imposed on oil companies in the 1980s? Producers had to differentiate between "old oil" which had a high tax and "new oil" which had a lower tax to encourage new production.

Tax evasion is my favorite "crime". We all ought to start doing it. Furthermore, who gives a shite if somebody is making more money? Why are lefties like you the most envious people on the planet?

What benefits me the most is to have leftist policies be fricking ended forever.

You people are getting all worked up over nothing. First of all, all legislation concerning taxes must originate in the House of Representatives. This is just a couple idiot senators shooting their idiot mouths off to pander to the nose ring crowd. The idea of proposing new taxes while inflation takes a bigger chunk out of everyone's wallets every day is absolutely dead in the water.

Most of the ultra wealthy are progressives, you do EXACTLY what they tell you to do.

Your failure to understand economics dooms you to the lower IQ political scale.

Taxing the oil companies more and expecting them to lower prices. OK Pocahontas.
