Year, make and model? How much are you asking?

Yeah they gave me a fair quote for my car, and they weren't not pushy at all when trying to sell me another.

I once sold an old car there. Got a good price IMO.

quote:I did that, then went to Carvana. Here's the difference: KBB gave me two dealerships that would buy my car. I was required to take it to them, let them inspect it, and then see if they would honor the price KBB gave me. If they still wanted to buy it, then I am left with getting paid. Carvana had me send them a picture of the odometer, title, and my driver's license. When they verified I was who I said I was, they made an appointment to come pick up my car at where ever I told them.
Go to KBB.com and get a cash offer,
That was difference in the procedure, but the big difference was in the price. Carvana offered $5K more than the KBB offer! The guy showed up with a truck exactly like the one in their commercial. He took a few pictures, I signed a couple of docs. He submitted payment thru his phone, and the money was in my account the next day.
I sold another car to a dealership with KBB last year. It was not a pleasant experience. A lot of sitting around at the dealership waiting on someone there to do something. Just getting them to actually cut the check was an ordeal. Also, keep in mind, I had to have someone with me, to take me back home.

givemethevin.com Was a bit higher of an offer, but just as easy.

20,500 is my best offer right now.

I just did Carmax and Carvana. Within $500 of each other and on the high range of blue book value. Carvana will come to your house. Carmax you gotta take it to them. Up to you.

My neighbors sold a vehicle that didn't run and needed a new motor to carvana. They were happy with the transaction.
A few months later they bought a vehicle through carvana.

Just went through this myself - sold my car to Vroom. They beat everybody, and it wasn't even close. Very easy process.

If you do a trade will they negotiate much on what you pay for the new vehicle?

I checked prices on all those a few months ago when I needed to sell a very good condition 07 Toyota Solara w 80K miles. Best online offer was $5700. Sold it myself on FB market place for $10,000

They offered me $4000 for a truck that I sold myself for $9500 a couple of months ago.

I checked CarMax, Carvana, Give me the Vin, KBB and found CarMax to be the best. I don't know how the services for the rest compare, but be prepared to take a few hours of your day (even with an appointment) to get the transaction completed. They did multiple inspections and were completely disorganized; but in the end gave me exactly what they quoted.

Fair if you want to get ripped off relative to basically any other way to get rid of it. You pay for convenience. They will be thousands below what you can get either trading elsewhere or selling yourself. but you'll get money today.
Not necessarily true. I went through the process a year ago and both dealerships I was considering buying from told me they cannot touch the prices these CarMax type companies are offering. Asked for it anyway, and they were 60% of what they offered. That was a year ago, and things could have changed; but it definitely isn't automatically a lot cheaper

Just sold a car last week and Carvana was 3,500 better then all the rest!

I've never used anything like Carmax or Carvana, but I am going to give them a try the next time I am in the market for a vehicle. I wouldn't shed a tear if they put traditional car dealerships out of business. Car salesman rank somewhere between lawyers and crackheads on my shite list.

Carmax for the convience. I had them look at a z71 4x4 with low miles that had a ding on bumper and the dashboard had a seam from the manufacturer. They said both would have to be replaced.
So they deducted both from the offer. Screw that noise. So I sold it to a private owner.

Worth a try. I've taken three cars to them, and sold one. It's a pretty painless process if you get an offer you like. Do your homework first.

You can go to their website and get a quote right now. Then compare with other offers. Decide for yourself.
