First off, you need to do some self evaluation because these couldn’t be more different types of areas to live in and if you pick the wrong way you’ll be miserable

If i was 15 years younger and didn’t have a wife and kids, I would land somewhere like Nashville or Raleigh. Both are fast growing cities with plenty of young professionals and have great weather most of the time.
Don’t go to a remote place right now. Like somebody else said earlier, you’ll be ready for that when you’re older. Enjoy your late 20s with as many beautiful women as possible.

Absolutely agree. Options are exciting, just looking for some suggestions on places I should look at that I might not be considering. Will be a few months before I really decide what I want to do.

Gym I can obviously pretty much do anywhere.
Golf and hiking require warmer weather.
But I also want to use this as an opportunity to pick up some cool things. Mountains would be intriguing bc I could pick up something like skiing or snowboarding in the winter.

If I was in your shoes and not tied down (I have been divorced 5 years but the kids are in school which limits my mobility).
I would seriously look at living in an RV full-time. There are some really nice 5th wheels out there and then you can move around as you see fit all the while stocking away cash.
There are several You Tube channels that go into the details. I like "Keep Your Daydream" and "Changing Lanes" but there are a ton.
The one downside is if you are looking to "remarry" I am not sure how that would fit into the mobile lifestyle.
It would be amazing to me to summer in the upper Rockies and winter in SEC country.

Given your age, income, & relationship status I'd look at mid-sized cities to smaller "major metros in affordable states. My list would look like this:

You can probably get a pretty nice place in Bogalusa for $350 / month.
If your budget can handle a slight upgrade, North Gulfport is fun.

I would love Miami if I owned a boat. Some of the towns outside of it are great places for families too. My wife has family near Boca Raton and their neighborhood is mostly Hispanic but it's safe and well to do.

Just saw on the new savannah ga. is paying people to move and work remotely now. I did not catch how much they were paying. I am now newly work from home also. Live on northside of Atlanta in the burbs I like it but the choices are endless now. Might move to the country.

Being in PA I’m sure you’ve had your fair share of snow days. South Florida sounds like a great idea with continuous travel, or even a second home, affordable via your nice salary, in a mountain range like the Rockies.
Can’t beat being close to family. We only have a limited time with them. We have our whole lives to do the other.

Use those few months to spend a week or so in different cities. You can work from your hotel or Airbnb so you don’t have to use PTO and you get a real sense of what it’s like to live in those cities on a day to day basis and not just on a vacation
Also I agree with the person above and you should include smaller but vibrant cities as a bit of a middle ground to the complete opposite directions you listed earlier
