I'm 100% remote but have an going into 8th grader.
Once he's gone I'm finding a place on a lake where I can keep my boat in a lift, maybe Lake Fork. Will also need a golf course near by.

Miami is fun in SPring and Summer. We have Spring Training not two hours away and the Marlins and the beaches. Fall You are watching LSU on tv and not caring what the Canes or Dolphins are doing at all. You can be in the pool in December here.

Also I agree with the person above and you should include smaller but vibrant cities as a bit of a middle ground to the complete opposite directions you listed earlier
Honestly, probably what I'm going to end up doing. Since I travel for work a bit, I have a lot of hotel points and airline miles built up. Using some suggestions here to figure out some good places to check out. Is this what 5 star recruits feel like? lol

Lion, I posted a similar thread on the travel board a few months back. I’m a few years older and live in DC currently. It’s been a fun run and it’s real solid for your age but I wouldn’t tell you to spend more than a few years here. I’m likely headed to Charleston when my lease is up. I miss the south. If you want a good 1BR in the area in a newer building you’re looking at $2200 minimum.

revisiting the thread and learning that you don't know what you want and have all the flexibility in the world i stand by getting an RV and moving around. you'll learn about the country and what it offers and a lot about yourself as well.

No income tax and the cost of living is good. The eastern edge of Hill country will keep you close to major airports (San Antonio & Austin) for travel And big events. Lots of rivers and lakes for recreation.
Personally I couldn’t and wouldn’t live anywhere else.

My company finally told us they're going to wait until Labor Day to reevaluate going back to the office. I'm going to Breck for a month this weekend, and then likely doing the month of August in Portland. Not rotting in the Houston summer heat if I don't have to

I’m surprised no one has said San Diego. Beach, good Mexican food. If you are liberal or conservative there is a sizable population of both. Great weather year round. Solid hiking. LA is 2 hrs away. Nice amount of good looking in shape women.
