If the phone has sudden unusual movements it sends a text alert out about it being a crash, or dropped phone with hard impact asking you to check on the person and sends the location as well in text

Anyone familiar with Life360? How could a "cellphone be activated" on it? What does that mean?

Possibly a low battery alert. I know if my wife was home and I got a low battery alert on Life360 I’d know something was up. She keeps that thing plugged into a charger nonstop at the house.

There’s also an SOS button you can hit to alert those in your circle.

The folks who were murdered were not in any mansion or gated community, etc. It doesn't seem like robbery/money would be the motive to storm their house.

Domestic issue, drugs?

The use of zip ties, he said, showed a premeditated attack. “It tells me they had a plan coming in,” Burch said.

Burch said its possible drugs played a role in the killings. “That’s certainly a factor in the case,” the sheriff said. “I’m not making an assumption or speaking ill of what happened but it’s certainly a possibility. It appeared somebody was searching for something. He said no large quantities of drugs or cash were found but said he couldn’t discuss further evidence. “I don’t make any assumptions or exclude any possibility,” Burch said.

The sheriff said detectives have positive leads. “I feel comfortable we’ll have these animals off the street soon,” he said.

The whole story is bizarre. Almost seems like the decapitated boy sold some bunk drugs or otherwise ripped someone off.

Was it clear that the 18 month old belonged to the pregnant 17 year old girl?

Two kids by the time you graduate high school is wild.

yes the updated article names the unknown offshore worker as the father of both kids. 17 years old with an 18 month old…at best she was 16 and possibly 15. And she was 8 months pregnant

someone in that house was either dealing drugs or buying in bulk or both

Then not just have the pregnant mother killed? The girl’s whole family was killed.

Witnesses. He didn’t know the rest of the family would be there so had to take them out. Or the dad set it up. Working offshore is a perfect alibi.

according to another article, this appears to be the family situation

Mother with two children by a Mr Luker; the deceased pregnant teen and an older son who was not at the house
A younger son by another man

The offshore guy is the father of both the unharmed 18 month old child who was at the house and the unborn child who died along with the 17 year old girl

I subscribe to it being a drug situation and probably someone ripped someone off and the family paid the piper.

What does the drug scene look like on off shore rigs? Could baby daddy have been dealing to co-workers and skimming either product or payment?

Good question. I’d imagine pretty strict but that guy seems clean to me. Wasn’t he the one who called his baw to go over and check? Weird that he would’ve sent his friend over at 2:30am though

I'm finding it odd how quiet this story is. Seems like it would be horrifying enough to garner some more national headlines.

You think the 12-year-old was the cause of this? Dude!
