Why do sheriffs talk so much?
They are elected, so essentially politicians with a badge. They can’t help themselves.

Jesus. Did the dad to be run afoul of a cartel? That’s about the only people I can think of that would do this shite.

I’ve listened to enough Crime Junkie to know it’s almost never the cartel and almost always a romantic partner or weird neighbor

I think I saw where there is an older brother to the deceased, pregnant teenage mom

That's where I might begin my investigation. Not that he committed these crimes, but possibly related to the motive.

Did your parents receive notifications whenever you left work? I can’t imagine living under surveillance like that

Well, I didn't have a cell phone or internet or cable TV.

Are we not allowed to take advantage of modern technology?

I think the surveillance is way too prevalent, but I have no issues tracking teenagers.

We have too many Tv shows that immediately make people think of the cartel.

There’s plenty of gangbangers that would do shite like this, unfortunately. You owe the wrong person some money and they may respond like this.

I saw this earlier today…it’s an interview with the husband of the older female victim and the stepfather of the slain children

LINK

Evidently, several years ago he was arrested for drug trafficking and even says in this interview that he was “affiliated with them” meaning a drug cartel. But he says with confidence that this is unrelated and was done by someone “jealous of their progress in life”. That progress evidently being living in a trailer with a 17 year old pregnant girl with an 18 month old daughter in Wilmer Alabama

if he’s right and this is not drug related I feel for him and wish him peace. If he’s not right and this is drug related I do not

The dog alerted to the possible presence of drugs. Police then found what they say was more than 71 pounds of meth. That quantity of methamphetamine has a street value of nearly $2 million, according to the release.

Uh, yes. Read the quoted part again and then read how the others died. There was personal hatred toward that boy.

UPDATE (4:45 p.m.): Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch has released more details surrounding the arrest of a man in connection with a family homicide in Wilmer.

According to Sheriff Burch, 54-year-old William “Bill” Oliver knew the family, which included 46-year-old Lisa Gail Fields, 17-year-old Keziah Arionna Luker, and 12-year-old Thomas “TJ” Cordelle Jr. Keziah was pregnant when she died.

Sheriff Burch said Oliver was at the family’s home on April 19 around 7:30 p.m.

No word on possible motive. Man, what an evil piece of shite!

The father was offshore. I wonder how he'd have been notified. Is there some kind of panic mode she could have triggered?
I read it as him calling in to check in and not getting ahold of her. Checked that app, saw she was home and after some time of not getting ahold of her he got worried. Maybe she shouldn’t have been home at a certain time.

May be wrong but that’s how I read it.

“At this point we believe he’s solely responsible for the murders,” Burch said. “We finally came to a conclusion, it’s not gonna bring our victims back, but it’ll certainly be some form of justice for the family.”

Burch said he was aware of a motive but would not comment due to that being evidence in the forthcoming court case.

But now, Coleman is forced to face this possibility: That his neighbor, who he describes as a handyman and dedicated father of three young boys, broke into a home, zip-tied the hands of a pregnant teen, her mother and younger brother, and killed them all.

The pregnant mom had been shot in the head, her mother and brother found with their throats slashed.

"What is it about him that surprises you that he would even be mixed up in something like this?" "'Cause he's a quiet, unassuming man," Coleman responded. "He spends a great deal of time with his kids, has three boys, and I've seen him and his wife get along well, and his mother lives with him as well. And just a nice, unassuming guy."

Wonder if Oliver is the baby’s real father and he wanted to prevent that from happening.
