Going to Bath and Body Works and Hobby Lobby at least once a month then usually we will get some mexican food afterwards, makes for a really nice day.

We actually have a nice little Saturday planned. We’re going to go to Home Depot. Buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know. I don't know if we'll have enough time

That makes sense, you may find it’s a bit different after 35-40 years.

You gotta bloom wherever you’re planted.

In that scenario I would go over to the ceramic figurines for sale area and start configuring them as if it was a scene from “Caligula”.

Do these kinds of things enough and you don’t get invited to accompany them on the shopping trips.

I won't, but I hope your day is good.

Perks of marrying someone you genuinely like.

Joking about hating your wife is the pinnacle of boomer humor.

And it's no coincidence that most comedians have a low opinion of marriage.
A lifetime on the road hanging out in clubs away from the missus, and they think marriage as an institution sucks. Nah, it's just your marriage that sucks.

Amazon exists for a reason!

Thankfully, my wife hates shopping almost as much as I do!

We’re calling it the “companion chair” now?

I don't know if "we" are, but I chose the word as carefully as I could to sidestep as much as possible the potential cuck chair jokes. It was like a smokescreen; people were thinking about the odd choice of wording vs trying to make a joke. Although I do see a poster's reply after yours suggests he might have seen through it.

That does beg the question. I wonder what people in retail clothing sales call those chairs.

Doesn't really matter too much what we're doing. Pretty happy with all the time we get to spend together

Ya this is how it should be. OP sounds like a grumpy old man in a miserable relationship, coupled with old people think it’s hilarious to trash talk "the ol ball and chain" for some reason

Lol, nope, happily married for 44 years. There are things I love doing with the wife and things I'd rather not do, including spending hours shopping for clothes.

Went to costco today with wife. And kids

Usually only get 1-2 hours at night together during the week. Don't mind going shopping.

However I do get a little antsy when we are clothes shopping and its just us because I feel dumb just wandering around a womens clothing store while she is in and out of dressing rooms

Same here, I've pouted enough the times way back when she tried to get me to go shopping with her that she found it very counterproductive to have me with her. It's worked out well for both of us ever since.

I’ll never forget going to the mall years ago and watching a family in front of us. As they passed the Coach store, the wife and daughter stopped and went in. The husband reached in his pocket, pulled out his wallet, threw it in the store and kept walking.
