Don't know what the husband believed was happening. But, if you get a call from your spouse who has your 2 small children in the car about kids harassing you and then see the kid about to throw something in the car; I have a feeling you'll be charging at the kid to push him out of the way.
I see both sides of the argument. If I'm coming up and see a kid throwing a snake in my wife's car; I will remove him from the side of the car. At the same time, if a parent pushes my kid like that, I will plan to respond accordingly.

frick them kids. Kid freaked out when he saw he was about to have consequences to his actions. Kids these days have been coddled and not held accountable for too long. Guy barely pushed him, kid dove, and didn't punch/kick him, so it is all good IMO.
