He makes more of a valid statement with his Art than most of the pieces in that museum. This profit that Art has meaning. He proves himself wrong. shite, I'll buy that piece.

It is sad that at one point Western Civilization created art such as this…
Good news! We can still make art like that, and many people still do. Art evolves, but we don't forget where we came from. Like, we still make music (which is art) that is in the style of the time periods you posted, but we also have music being made today that ranges from utter crap to timeless beauty.

And now today we have crap like this…
I have good news for you on this as well. You don't have to like these. Some people do. Some people don't. No one is forcing you to like it or even accept it as art. I like that Kardinsky. You don't. That's okay.
And that Don Cheadle statue is kind of intriguing. The juxtaposition of a massive, traditional African form atop a classic Greek body kind gets a few thoughts flowing.

Meaning is ascribed by the observer. Dude should not slight his own art. It’s all BS or all art or somewhere in between, no matter what art got (or did not get) memorialized in the Art text books.

Don Cheadle didn’t deserve this.

That looks like something in the lobby of a rundown urgent care clinic

Modern art is to art what rap is to music.

Low brow comments pretending to be high brow.
“There is no meaning to modern art”
But compare a Marc Chagall painting to a Michelangelo statue and you’re probably going to find more meaning in Chagall who painted what he wanted to paint that Michelangelo who works for a patron and sculpted Bible scenes.
And You may prefer the statue of David and that’s fine. Michelangelo was a genius, and an amazing artist. But saying White Crucifixion has no meaning is ignorant.
shite someone literally posted Napoleon crossing the alps which is essentially Pro-Napoleon propaganda. It’s amazing and Jacques-Louis David is a great painter, but he was also basically the chief artist of the revolution through napoleonic France.

I'm not going to say it's amazing or some shite like that, but it's interesting.
I like a variety of art styles. I'm a fan of juxtaposition. I wouldn't design a room with nothing but impressionist or abstract art, but I feel contrasting styles add to the overall presentation.

Call me crazy, but I’m thinking of buying a Hunter Biden piece. First, it would be funny as hell. Imagine your buddies coming over and laughing about it over drinks. Second, I have a feeling they will be collectors’ items one day.

Y'all can pass up this Kandinsky if you want. I'll gladly hang it on my wall. Not sure how much this particular one would be worth but his paintings have recently sold between 21 and 44 million.

Art has the meaning applied to it by the viewer. It's an asinine argument to say things are meaningless, it takes agency away from everyone but yourself.

Is that a statue of a giant piece of turd?

Arts value now is more tied to the artist than the art itself. Even if a highly famous artist makes a complete sack of shite piece; and thinks of it that way themselves, if they’ve done basically anything even remotely popular, anything else in their portfolio will suddenly become more valuable.

His art was the prettiest art of all art.

Looks pretty good compared to stuff I've literally seen hanging...

It's most worthy when the artist dies and a rich person can buy up all his art dirt cheap, then start the money laundering scheme the different layers are a part of that decide which art is worthy.

Some modern art is amazing. Some sucks.
I really like things that looks like other items. Like this balloon made out of marble.
