Looks like Landry is going to tank the mid-Barataria diversion.

The administration is giving every signal that it wants to kill the diversion. The fishermen and the shortsighted morons in Plaquemines Parish are going to win. We are doomed. If I didn’t fear for what it will mean for New Orleans, I would cheer when these idiots are washed away by the Gulf.

shrimp, oysters, trout, etc. who cares? these animals will simply move to the water with the salinity levels that they prefer. so learn to fish a new area. shrimpers always move around looking for the schools of shrimp. this should be nothing new for them.
the only excuse I can give would be for oyster fishermen. they have actual leases. thus they would have to find a new lease. and these guys already have (if i remember correctly) +/-$360M "set side" in the budget for this project for them. as a gift.
money grab...that is all.

This is why it’s hard for me to call myself a Republican. There’s no common sense anywhere in politics on either side.
How difficult is it to find middle ground? We’re going to sacrifice the entire coastline of the state and put millions at risk so fat arse Billy nungesser and his friends don’t have to travel an extra couple miles to fish.

Louisiana will always always always be ran by the greediest, corrupt, snake licking, dirt eating scumbag politicians ever.
Even a person with an IQ lower than room temperature can go on google earth and travel back in time and see that there is clearly an issue with coastal erosion and that something needs to be done ASAP. But nope, the greed of man in our corrupt government wins unfortunately.
Hope you guys get used to people catching speckled trout and redfish in baton rouge in the future because that is going to be the reality if these morons don't realize the grim future ahead of us...

I live a stone's throw from Plaquemines and know a lot of people in Belle Chasse. Exactly every person I know down there is pro-diversion. They understand that it is an existential threat.
I'm for moving the mouth of the river 50 miles upstream. It would resurrect the delta and rebuild the buffer. Dumping sediment out into the deep ocean does nothing for anyone. F Plaquemines.

Yall are about to see the crime and corruption that has been going on in Terrebonne Parish for years. Between Tony and Gordy they going to follow the money and who will line their pockets the most. Both of these goons are complete jokes.......
Trust me someone is definitely lining their pockets. GIS Engineering was the big one for years bc they had all the contracts for Morganza to the Gulf. SeaLevel also.
