We have this one, and it will no shite brew a pot of coffee in about 40 seconds. I wish the filter/coffee basket was attached/hinged in some way, and I wish it had an insulated stainless carafe. Would be the perfect coffee maker.

Bunn. End of thread.

Takes longer to go get a cup and a spoon than it does to brew the whole pot.

Have had one for the past 20 years, use it every day, and I am only on the second one.

I have been eyeing a Keurig Duo and other single cup/pot makers.

Had one of those. Drawbacks are they take up a lot of countertop space, and we rarely if ever actually used the cup side.

I have had this model of Moccamaster for about 15 years. These are well made and last forever. I just had a cup from the carafe from this morning's coffee.

Old coffee maker is on its last leg. Not looking to drop much on a new one and really don't need all the bells and whistles, like a grinder or expresso maker mode. Just make coffee and shut itself off after a couple of hours.
It's all a factor of temperature, right?

Last one I purchased had a thermal carafe. I like it a lot better. When it's done brewing, it's "off." The carafe is like a yeti I think, double walled. So there's no heating element.

I won't go back to a standard one where I have to worry about turning the element off, scorching the coffee, etc.

Bonus, the carafe isn't glued to the maker (heating element) to stay warm. I often take it with me out with me to the shop.

Same for the price, it is hard to beat the drip style coffee makers. It won't make the same cup that some of the fancy machines, but it is good enough.

Seems counter intuitive, cause you'd think it come down to the heat, the water, and the coffee beans...but one of the best cups of coffee I every had was maxwell house out of some old ancient looking coffee machine at a country club (country club now defunct).

Yep. They are a little pricy, but the Technivorm Moccamasters are excellent. They are a drip pot that absolutely nails the water temperature, something most drip machines do poorly. You will notice an immediate improvement in whatever beans you are currently using. I was the third of several close friends to get one and we are all wildly pleased.

Moccamaster is a great machine but there are some similar style brewers that mimic the "automated pourover" style for a cheaper price. SCA puts out a list of home brewers that they endorse - https://sca.coffee/certified-home-brewer

OXO 9-cup/Barista Brain
I have this one, got it very lightly used for $50 on FB marketplace, and it has been great

Seriously, who's got time to make coffee in the morning. Just go to your favorite coffee bar.

I've got a Nespresso and a French Press. I feel like the pot coffeemakers are pretty much the same. One thing to consider are the ones that will auto start at a certain time. Fill it up the night before and wake up to fresh coffee.
