Friend,
Assuming Laura maintains its strength, your graph would indicate that three of the strongest four hurricanes to make landfall in Louisiana in the 200 years of recorded history occurred in the last 15 years.
It makes me want to move to the mountains.

Earlier posted my parents left Hackberry...mom just texted and said my step dad decided to stay.
Just looking at a map that seems like a really, really bad idea.
The kind of bad idea you only get to make once.

And lots come in here saying you're wishcasting. We laugh at some of the doomcane models but they give you an idea of the ceiling potential of a potentially dangerous storm if the right conditions happen.

Duke would you say the eye is due south of LC now or is LC a little further West.
It looks to me if the eye is moving just west of north, but not NNW. You?

Y'all know this shite is archived, right?
2 Days ago at 5AM on the 24th they called for 105 MPH before landfall
And said this in the discussion:
quote:
In contrast, the HRWF and HMON models bring Laura to major hurricane strength by 60 hours. Given the very favorable environmental conditions of high SSTs near 31 deg C and low vertical shear values less than 10 kt after 24-36 hours, subsequent intensity forecasts might have to trend more toward the regional models.

It's moving more like a stair step than one direction. I think NNW is the net direction but it's going N then NW but I've seen the recent normal jog.
