Good grief, extreme updrafts with overshooting tops in that convective burst.

That can’t be good.

No. It’s scary to think what is coming. And it is nothing beautiful like that sunset.

In the OT experts' opinions, what do you honestly think those % would have been, say Monday? I still think they would have listed it as a high %, probably >60%, of Cat 2 or less.

Yes a high %.
You could refer to each of the reliable models and give each weight totaling 100. Then you could come up with a value that way.

Is that heading almost due north? Jesus

It has looked that way to me for a few hours. And while it's not moving "East", the potential damaging areas are moving East because the storm wont be going as fa.....West.

Friend,

Assuming Laura maintains its strength, your graph would indicate that three of the strongest four hurricanes to make landfall in Louisiana in the 200 years of recorded history occurred in the last 15 years.

It makes me want to move to the mountains.

Actually they’re right. Was supposed to be two cat 1 storms.

I'm going to call the readings on that 1856 storm at Last Island a little suspect.

There’s some incredible books and firsthand accounts of people that survived that hurricane. Readings might not be accurate, but the complete destruction, storm surge, and winds are well documented.

Plane will be back in rough weather in about 15-20.

Brett is going to steal some burgers at the Golden Nugget.

And one of the other chasers apparently had a bug fly on him that was the length of a cat

On this Weather Nation broadcast, there are 3 people just standing on the shore of some Lake Charles bay looking at the plants on the other side. not a care in the world.

And trust me, they do not look like swimmers...
