I’m sure this has been asked but when will the worst of it hit Baton Rouge area?

Depends on the squalls.

The "worst of it" could be anything between now and lunch tomorrow for BR.

That's crazy, there appear to be vaguely consistent geometric shapes rotating around the center.

Reminds me of the hexagonal cloud pattern on Saturn, thought to be due to vortices interacting with turbulent flow.

4:00 update

145 mph
15 mph NW

Foward speed dropping a little, radar seems more NNW than just NW recently. I'd agree the turn is starting.

Still a 4 on 4 PM CT advisory. Like it matters at this point.

Some of those storm chasers are going to learn the hard way. SWLA is a different animal than Panama City or Port O'conner when dealing with surge.

Unfortunately, some of them may not live to learn the lesson.

Before anyone freaks out, it was expected to slow down as it made the turn. Speed should resume again later.

Do you think he's cheering it on? Doubtful considering he lives in Sulphur and his business is there too.

I've heard a few stories about them being found in tree tops after Rita. I can believe it.

There are actual pictures on the internets of them in trees after Katrina down in Plaqemines Parish

Thanks for that assist.

Slowing some typically means the turn is about to start.
