Recon might have found 986 millibars. Unofficial at this point. They sometimes adjust raw readings.

I've been very busy with work and haven't had a chance to even look at this, but I know I have family evacuating Lake Charles and it looks like the area is about to be smashed, huh?

Any chance it moves West? What's Houston supposed to see from this? That's where I'm at but i've been locked in my home 'office' since Sunday.

What is a tower in this context?

The little pink bursts you see circling the center rotation. Those are "taller clouds" in laymens terms, or a tower.

Any chance this becomes an annular storm?

The maps have been slow to mark em. Just read the raw data.

986 seems pretty reasonable with the storm we're seeing

Well. If you live in Cameron or Calcasieu, she’s going to PIIYB.

Are you saying the eastern half of the CONE that the track is within, or further east than the cone even? Huge difference. If you're saying the eastern half within the current cone, your prediction isn't too crazy as the NHC agrees with you that this is possible.

This morning all we heard was a shift westward towards Houston all while the storm was tracking North of projected NHC plotting. I kept addressing this and have been called a “wish caster” all day because the storm was obviously tracking along the eastern part of the cone. Maybe the ones calling for this westward shift were the actual wishcasters

Glad that it wasn’t a K name — we could have been blessed with a Karen.

Have any neighbors or friends staying? Or everyone you know left? Just trying to get an idea of how many are staying the LC area

Not exactly sure where you are but the Atchafalaya River is predicted to rise 4’ between now and Thursday afternoon

Didn’t you once say you were in Belle River, north of Lake Verret? If so you’ll be fine.

The river is so low right now even at 7’ at Morgan City still won’t make a big difference

We are on Belle River near Stephensville. Camp is raised 12 feet on pilings
