....and rightfully so. Football coaches spend more time at school during football season and also they spend more time with their players than their kids.

No the State does not. Each individual parish determines salary schedule increases. Some do as some don’t. I can go down to 3rd grade level reading comprehension next if you need…lol

Every parish is different. Teachers in St. Charles parish make 70-80k
Teachers in Vermilion parish make 40-50K

Every teacher I've ever known gets a raise every single year. What they call a "raise" is actually just a change to their set raise schedule that they get automatically regardless of performance.
In some parishes you are correct. Parishes like St. Charles and St. James have done this but most only have minor increases like $300-$400 a year
Yeah well the pay hasn’t increased like most job promotions and the atmospheres of most schools paired with how different parental involvement and accountabilities work currently, the compensation needs a be adjusted. Parents will be applying so much pressure on the legislation by Labor Day to get the kids in school.

I think most teachers agree and voted no but that’s will only increase the pressure the Unions will put on the state to figure out something quick..Talks have begun with Louisiana teacher unions that a Teacher strike is eminent. You can’t deny a raise and in return cut the $2500. Also factor in the results from the last few states that had statewide teacher strikes, I doubt blame them one bit
re: What’s the good word on St. George chat?

I voted no except 3. Time to throw teachers a bone. My mom works in the BESE office and the talks of a teacher strike is eminent. I researched the outcome of a few states where teachers went on strike and I was shocked at results of the strikes.

My boy Spencer Pratt was quite possibly the biggest a-hole to ever be on TV but that also makes him a great politician in a state like California because he gives zero fricks and has no fear but his smarter enough to make this mayors race quite interesting

I kind of agree with her

was told by mutilple teachers to vote no on the school amendment. That the State isn't actually giving teachers a raise. They would be liquidating Trust funds meant for Education that were set up years ago by a lawsuit with Big tobacco. It would be like your boss telling that they are giving you a raise but they are taking it out of you 401k. Oh and btw you no longer have a 401k to invest in any longer because your boss used it to "give you a raise."
Then you teacher friends must be idiots. It was a no vote for tha amendment last year because of all the BS attached to the teacher raise. This time it’s definitely a yes vote for a teacher raise and it will also allow the TSLR to get some debt off the books

Milam and Curiel are our best players but the both have very quite and reserve personalities and Jake Brown seems more of a “clown” than a leader
Guidry has the personality you need by not sure if a relief pitcher can be that effective
