I just got a call from the Governor, informing me there's a hurricane on the way.

And is that hurricane's name COVID19?

Did I read correctly that Louisiana isn’t opening any shelters due to covid? I’m guessing some Calcasieu residents may not have a place to go??

I think I read this morning that the average landfall error 48 hours out is 80 miles

Slack said 75 miles would be a big miss a few hours ago in this thread. who to believe?

i don't know what to think anymore since marco was projected to be a landfalling hurricane

Marco was projected to make landfall as a tropical storm. All the data showed the shear would diminish it. I just don't think they expected it to diminish it so much.

I think the 4pm track moves it east to right by Cameron / Oyster Lake

and then the 9/10 pm update puts it going up the Snatchafalaya Basin, and then it's time to hold on to your consons

if laura's center gets to 26N before 90W plot, things will get real interesting

You might want to email Chicken.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote him about how the COVID-19 pandemic is hurting some people financially and he volunteered to waive my Premium Membership fees for 6 months. Just a suggestion...

Cameron is about 25 miles east of the current track. I can’t imagine they would be off by another 25 miles but the wobbles are eating my lunch. Yesterday this thing was moving at 280-290 degrees on a compass and now it is moving more north of that. Last thing I want is east movement.

I’m calling Pecan Island Cat 3

Also an east shift to the track coming in the next two advisory. Complete opposite of what all the experts were saying only 6 hours ago. Muh models

Not sure how 75 miles is a big miss, per NHC, any landfall within their cone of error is a forecast verification

This x1000...Been saying this all morning but the OT weather experts were all about the models instead of looking at what Laura was and is actually doing

I say this with 0 knowledge of how they project these things, but 50-100 miles on something that is changing by the minute doesn't seem drastic to me
