Duke, Thanks for the explanation of the HRRR
How accurate do you think this simulated IR satellite of landfall is? Not for location - just on general size and appearance. Looks like a Cat 3 I guess.

if laura's center gets to 26N before 90W plot, things will get real interesting
Can you let us know if this does or does not happen... Thanks

Not sure how 75 miles is a big miss, per NHC, any landfall within their cone of error is a forecast verification
Since th NHC constantly moves and shifts their cone, how could they ever miss?

Basically anything outside of Galveston to Pecan Island is a miss

Until it goes past 90W we still have hope it’ll turn due north and make a direct hit on NOLA.

Ain't too far off from the HWRF, which I think has a pretty good handle on the structure at this point.

Need to get on the horn with Nagin in the clink for a passionate Chocolate City phone call.

Why are you wanting it to hit NOLA?

If it hit New Orleans that would be the biggest blunder of all time.

You guys are paying way too much attention to wobbles. In a few hours Laura will wobble straight west and you guys will go crazy claiming Galveston is in the path.
