Hard for me to remember Katrina. At 4:30 that Sunday morning we had a large fight that included one homicide , another airlifted and and multiple other injuries. After the storm I left for N.O. While down there I had no contact with anyone from home
With Rita I worked the storm then left for Dequincy / Starks to work. I could still call home after that one and think it was 2 days before I got power back

Pat Shingleton says you don't even need a degree!

No.
I've seen him in a hurricane thread like one or twice and we chatted EWRC for a bit.

I left LC and made it to Austin. I can’t imagine it’s going to be brutal here

i don't know what to think anymore since marco was projected to be a landfalling hurricane that turned into hardly anything because it got sheared apart that wasn't shown in earlier projections

I don't know the specifics, but he worked with bouy data

Seems like Rita but only in third gear, while Rita was in fourth but did slow when it hit the coast. Big lake is gonna be fricked up again along with Holly Beach (best beach in the USA and Cameron) really getting stroked hard and don't forget about The Port A. in Texas. Rita hit here with Cat 2 winds and didn't get electricity back for 3 days. Hopefully the clearing of power lines and such will pay off.

would be a pretty big miss by models and NHC
The NHC just missed pretty bad on Marco and 5 days ago had this storm going into Florida

SE to NE isn’t a direction of motion
Pretty sure it was a typo.
Wondering about surge (SE to NW) vs. (S to N) considering the coastline lies E/W.

I think I read this morning that the average landfall error 48 hours out is 80 miles

I answered that in that post

She tries hard to look really ugly out in the field but in the studio and on Instagram she looks like a fine piece of baby making machinery.

If you are implying I have a liberal arts degree... you could not be further from the truth.
In fact, liberal arts classes were my worst grades...
Get back to laying tile!

The IR image to go along with the satellite linked earlier looks really odd on the bottom half.
