I was living in LC for Rita, how did it effect Lafayette?

Can’t speak for Laffy, but Rita was worse for BR than Katrina was. I’m guessing there will be a lot of power outages in Laffy and trees down.

Live in Beauregard parish. No trees around big enough to damage my house. Generators all set up and and loose stuff cleaned up

I don’t know how true that is. I’ve been watching our local ABC affiliate since 5AM and they haven’t mentioned that at all. And the traffic girl, just shows traffic flor to be normal

Interested if people start evacuating Houston. A city this large with people evacuating sounds like a cluster frick.

So here an update on the 00z Euro wind gust and the 6z GFS:

Just another reminder how much worse it is to be on the right front quadrant of a landfalling storm.

Even a Galveston landfall puts Houston in the same winds as Lake Charles.

It is. Go read some articles and watch videos from the Rita evacuation. It's been mentioned several times in this thread .

The last movie John Candy ever made was Wagons East. He was a drunk wagon guide with a sordid past but people still followed him and he got his people to their destination despite some issues on the way.

You can be our John Candy and I'll follow you.
