Yea slack for my father.

We are heading to Alexandria I booked an extra room for them if he wants it.

Looking for opinions from people who watch these storms more than I.

Thanks everyone.

I have very close family in HOU including grandbaby. They just moved there and are clueless. Is it too late for them to evacuate to BR? Should they just hunker down?

They live in an apartment in NW Houston, near Owlie.

Any advice for them is welcome. Obviously, I'm getting really worried for them and they truly are clueless.

Saying that it’s a cat 4/5 hurricane going into Houston is the exact example of wish casting

Parts of Houston are currently in the cone of uncertainty and any shift westward in the 10 am update will put more of Houston in that cone. I just don’t think it is fair to call the guy a wish caster because he wrote about what happened overnight

it’s not wishcasting or fear mongering, it was a dumb comment.

okay, I guess. but that has nothing to do with Eric’s breakdown.

His breakdown was level headed.

The Houston weather boards, meanwhile, are blaming the NHC for costing lives in Houston. They're nuts.

If this thing doesn’t swing more west by the afternoon the only thing a Houston evacuation would do would be to cause a clusterfrick all over the interstates

You should stick to that Houston centric board that’s got you so riled up.

This storm may have a direct hit on Houston, but as I said yesterday, you have to take these Twitter guys with a grain of salt. This is their time to generate follows, and a Houston track is far better for business than a Sabine Pass track.

frick off dude. You are biggest shite poster in these hurricane threads

Eric and Ryan might be hyping some for clicks but its not like they don't have data and models to back up most of their claims
I'm sure Levi is getting enough clicks already

Also they had a few people die in the evacuation from Rita its pretty important people have more time to get out

No clue on the traffic situation there or along I-10 through LC, but it's definitely not too late.

That being said, if I lived in NW Houston, I'm staying put for now. Easy enough to get out and head further west if necessary, but still on the good side of the storm.

We're riding it out in NW Houston also. I'm mostly worried about the streets flooding around us.

This is where I’m at. I have a roast in the crock pot and ham for sandwiches. I’ll be ok.

I need to find out if this area flooded in Harvey. I’ve only lived here 3 weeks.

what area / neighborhood?

I’m in North Houston, Spring/Woodlands. I’m not expecting much at all. Some light wind gusts, little rain, but definitely nothing scary. At least with any landing East of Galveston. Harvey was a freak situation and will never happen again. Not comparable to this.

Evacuating Houston would be a colossal mistake.

Good advice. I'll tell him to hunker down, stock up on necessities, and keep him posted on events unfolding.

Appreciate your answering.

Agree. Worst case will be Ike but that acted like a real hurricane. Lots of wind and rain and then gone.

I'm not talking about the spacecity guys or Levi, I'm talking about the complete melt it takes to start saying the NHC is going to cost lives.

Houston has been at play for a couple of days now. It's still at play.
