Young ,single, nerdy rocket engineers working for Space X will likely live next to the launch site at Pecan.
They don't care and will stay in prefab construction trailers equipped with a shower,AC,refrigerator, microwave and a widescreen tv.
When they get some free time they will visit the French Quarter, for a couple of hours.
They have little to no desire to go into Lafayette .

It’s an hour commute (55 minutes) from Maurice to Pecan Island where the Space X Starbase LA is located. Lafayette is another 6 miles or so to the closest parts by the Acadiana Mall.
The traffic in the morning @ 92, East Broussard, and Duhon are going to be a major fricking issue. It is right now
Maurice needs to figure something out @ 92. It’s a big time gridlock between 7:30 and 8:15

Agree. It will not be just Space X but all the related industries that will locate in the area to be part of the space related business.

Not sure about that, takes me 50 minutes from S LC to our dock in Cameron and same heading north in am. I haven’t worked day shift yet so fingers crossed it’s same. Commonwealth will possibly throw a monkey wrench into this when they ramp up next year.

I know just the thing to take care of that....

I would think that Kaplan would see most of the growth with only half of that commute time. Kaplan gonna be the new Youngsville.
You really think those engineer’s wives moving to Louisiana are going to look at Kaplan and say “this is where I want to live”? I’m sure they’ll love grocery shopping at Larry’s and Dollar General.
An hour commute is nothing if they’re coming from a large city.

Sooner than you know think
Lacassine is upgrading their water system (water has been the issue) and they will need to annex that area.

Funny thing is even with that new water station coming on line. That water district doesn’t cross the interstate. So it would he no help for the water park lol

I thought Iowa was the problem?
BTW…Lacassine needs to stay just the way it is. Already too many people moving out there towards Welsh.

You're probably safe in Welsh.
I dont think too many people want to live within view of Mount St Welsh and the smell that comes with it

That's going to be fun in the city with the most nonsensical transportation grid in the US
No…joke. Driving around Lafayette sucks now, especially Youngsville area. Y’ville is a mess of 2 lane farm roads & a dozen traffic circles. Feels claustrophobic
