UL is going to try to get into the SEC.
Well, they ARE a college team while LSU is about to be a semi-pro.

Are they on F1 visas?
Can't work for SpaceX if so

The state needs peaceful places to live that don’t require $18k a year in private school and neighborhood security patrolling. Lafayette has New Orleans beat there. New Orleans has more Thai fusion and craft coffee.

Lafayette things they are gonna reap the benefits from Space X. But even with added revenue in the city, I have no confidence that they will fix anything if their shitty infrastructure. Until they figure it out Lafayette will be the worst layed out city in the state. They can add extra population it won’t matter.

They will fill in for LSU when the SEC kicks LSU out. The SEC rant told me this would happen
Must be true

Ones with jobs. That’s what these types of projects create. I know….a new concept for folks in Louisiana.

The traffic is already thick in laffy on a regular day, I can not imagine more cars on the road. My daughter who is at ULL pointed out to me the other day that there is no major hwy that goes through the city.

Hopefully better people. Surrounding areas, including Abbeville and New Iberia could use an influx.

That's going to be fun in the city with the most nonsensical transportation grid in the US
My wife (no pics) is a training manager from Chicago. She had to do a stint in Lafayette a few weeks ago, and she was basically in tears of frustration from the traffic there.

It’s an hour commute (55 minutes) from Maurice to Pecan Island where the Space X Starbase LA is located.
Lafayette is another 6 miles or so to the closest parts by the Acadiana Mall.
I would think that Kaplan would see most of the growth with only half of that commute time. Kaplan gonna be the new Youngsville.
Youngsville had 1 grocery store as its only business when I was riding my bike there from the Comeeaux High area as a teen chasing girls, and now is chock a block with retail businesses and high end subdivisions.
From the Kaplan area it’s 30 minutes to work and 30 minutes to Laffy for going out to eat or shopping etc…. Before long new restaurants in Kaplan would spring up as well just like they did in Youngsville.
Those SpaceX engineers not gonna want to ride in their FSD Teslas for two hours a day back and forth to work.
Maybe Elon will bore a tunnel from Pecan Island to Laffy, lol.

With Lake Charles being the LNG hub of the world and Lafayette now becoming a rocket and space hub, I look for the 2 metros to grow more together into one bigger metro

Is there any kind of dreamed up master plan for transportation other than connection i-49 south? Loop?

Elon has rented a home in New Iberia
