Issues with Neighbor

My neighbor put up a massive flood light on the corner of his house that lights up my entire house at night. He keeps it on all night. I asked if he would turn it off and he said he would if he remembered. He never turns it off. I broke this past weekend when he didn’t turn it off and shot it out with a pellet gun. I ran into him this morning and he told me he reported it to police and I F’d up his light socket. I don’t know what else to do. I asked, he was disrespectful and didn’t turn it off. Now he has the law involved. I feel my actions were justified.
