does this mean actual proven complaints or just complaints in general?

Definitely the former. This kind of touches on the other bullet calling for independent review boards who would investigate and determine credibility of complaints.

You’re going to have to raise pay and incentivize hiring those with degrees to make this work. Making a shitty job tougher with horrible pay isn’t going to do anything

So basically three traffic citations or three arrests and they are gone.

And who is going to decide this? Southern Poverty Law Center?

We are clearly seeing that they are moving the meaning of racist organizations from KKK to family values orgs/churches/conservative orgs.

So, no.

Exactly. I heard a story this morning about a mayor outside the police headquarters kneeling with the protesters. Hey jackass, you are the boss of those cops. You can do a lot more than taking a knee. But I guess nobody would see that.

frick that. My best friend was killed in the line of duty BECAUSE they knocked and announced they were there, giving the guy time to arm himself, position himself, and start shooting the split second the door opened.

All of these ideas sound great on the computer screen. Almost none of them are able to be implemented and enforced fairly.

These conversations always come down to the same thing. We pay cops about like we pay trash collectors. Shockingly, PD's don't draw the best applicants. Show me a PD paying competitive wages and hiring educated, seriously vetted and properly trained personnel. I bet that mythical PD has way less problems.

Who decides what's racist?

Because I've heard from more than a few people that ALL white people are racist and it's impossible for ANY black person to be racist.

That's a good list but, I have to ask, what do you expect the black community to do, as well? It takes two to tango.

For starters:

- End the war on drugs
- Abolish the DEA
- End civil asset forfeiture
- Gut the police union

is this for reviewed complaints that have merit or just any complaint? other than that I agree with this list.

Can you provide a list?

I'm talking blatantly racist bullshite like militias, Proud Boys, and all that shite. That goes for black officers, too...you're found belonging to a black power movement, sorry, you're out. You post something on social media that is blatantly racist, you're gone.

Basically the same shite any HR office would enforce. I know this is one of the weaker suggestions but I'm not an expert....surely a requirement could be written that respects 1st amendment rights while balancing the need for a PD to not have members who espouse blatantly racist propaganda or viewpoints.

Yes. I like dashboard cams too.

Crazy idea. There’d be zero police within one day.

And ban civil asset forfeiture. I can’t believe it’s even constitutional at this point.

Look, I think the riots and looting are overboard too, but this provision, if implemented, would be an egregious violation of the First Amendment

The real answer is that police should have more regulations (like the 3 strike rule) and get paid more. Human capital is probably the biggest issue, but solving it is a tough proposition.

The problem with paying the police more is that the greedy politicians don't want to in the 1st place, and even if they did, it would face huge taxpayer backlash.

EBRSO has a pretty good track record with its interactions with citizens. I would say BRPD has improved over the last 15 to 20 years.
