My membership included free delivery so definitely worth it

It’s like $40/yr, and usually they have some type of deal to make it close to $0 the first year. Just do it. The gas discount is worth it alone if you go there for gas. Product deals are pretty good. Scan and go app is elite for skipping shitty checkout lines

Think I would drop my membership if they ever remove the scan and go. It’s great and makes it incredibly convenient to go in for only a few items.
In addition to some of the already mentioned items in this thread I buy all my garbage bags, paper towels, paper plates, and toilet paper from Sam’s. They also have really good pricing on big hotel size aluminum pans, aluminum foil, and similar items.

For us, Sam’s isn’t that useful for general grocery shopping since the overall selection of goods is limited, and almost everything comes in bulk quantities, which we simply don’t need.
But we do get a number of items like TP, garbage bags, bottled water, pet foods, etc. And they have a good selection of meats, so we tend to go to Sam’s about once a month and buy all our meats and the few other things we get from there.

How many people are in your house? There's just 2 of us and we don't have a ton of extra space, I got a membership for $15 through my gym but rarely use it.

The meat is great, so is the bakery, the $5 rotisserie chickens...., it's well worth it.

Yes the gas is cheaper but my issue is the amount of valuable time you have to waste to actually get that gas.
Lines are backed up constantly. If you have the time, great. If not, it's an issue at SAMS and Costco.

Yes, you make up the membership fees with the saving on gasoline.

Sam's is ok, Costco is no question worth it

Costco is always over crowded and takes forever to check out.

Poor substitute for Costco but if it's the only thing in your area, sure

for some things, yeah... for others, not so much... i rather costco

Years ago it was more beneficial. The larger bulk items could only be found at Sam's. However, today most large grocery chains have bulk type products. We recently let our membership lapse. Just found we didn't shop at Sam's as often.

I end up walking out with so much shite each time that I’m not sure I’m saving any money

Wife and I have been using it for things like paper products and baby formula mainly. Been worth it for us.

I get the Sam’s Plus Membership for $110. You get 2% back in Sam’s Cash on all purchases. Last year got $80 Sam’s Cash put it towards this years membership, so only $30. Free shipping for $50 plus orders, but cold items cannot be delivered. Plus extra 20% eyewear or contacts. I am definitely getting my money back with this deal.
