Is Sams Club worth it?

I’ve never been a membership card kind of guy but groceries are getting so expensive. I’m thinking of taking the plunge. I don’t have much storage space and always envisioned a Kosmo Kramer type situation. But I’m on the fence now.

It’s ok for some things. Their bakery is awesome. It’s like any other store except for the bulk items. Their fruit selection can be on point, but can also look like it’s been sitting on a truck for weeks. They can have good meat deals sometimes.

If you do download the scan and go app, it’s a game changer.

I don't know why anyone ever waits in lines at Sam's anymore. The app makes it so easy to get in and gtfo quick.

Gas is always .20 cheaper, and sometimes as much as .40 less than other gas stations, so getting gas there pays the for membership without even considering any other savings.

We go once or twice a month and to us its worth the price of the membership.
You do have to look at price comparisons between Sam's Club and Walmart because there are some products that are actually more at Sam's and they are at Walmart.
As mentioned above the bakery items are on point everytime we buy.
Go in and look at your mostly purchsed items and do price comparisons. Thats where I started when I got my first membership ~4yrs ago.
Also the scan and go is the shite.

Depends on which club is near you. The one in Kenner and on airline are absolutely trash. I’ve been in small town Sam’s that rival the best Costco

I save enough on meat and coffee to justify the membership cost from those 2 alone
*ETA: and Member's Mark cauliflower crust pizza can't be beat. It's like 2/$11

I used to look down at Sam’s but ever since I got the membership, I prefer it over Costco. The fact that you can walk in, scan your items and walk out without being stopped makes it better. And their online ordering systems is way ahead of Costco’s Jurassic version.

Members Mark TP and paper towels are better than Walmart great value. Dog food is cheaper too. Because your buying in bulk, the bill adds up quickly though

We own a small business so it’s definitely worth it for us. Plus the gas is always the cheapest around. Also with a Sam’s plus membership you get you’re tires plugged for free, just found that one out

The gas savings in a year pays for the membership easily

Correct and if you have the "plus" membership you can shop before they officially open and there are never lines. $5 rotisserie chicken is tough to beat.

Just know that you aren't escaping without dropping a few hundred bucks for a decent sized trip every time.
If you don't already have a chest or upright freezer, get one. Even if it is only a couple of cubic feet of storage.

Yes it worth it. That said, you still have to shop around. Don’t blindly buy everything there, they grossly over charge on some things.

It’s really not that expensive for the membership there isn’t much to deliberate.
There are a few things that easily make it worth it for me. We drink cold brew every day and it is $3 (30%) cheaper than any grocery store. That alone pays for the standard membership
