It’s not sexy or fancy but for good simple food at a great price go check out Country Kitchen in Gonzales for lunch.
Yeah, don’t buy that boat. Get a 19-20 ft bay boat. There should be plenty of blue wave and nautic stars in your area for the same price as the boat you posted.

Try to find a 21-22 ft bay boat that’s on the lighter side if your budget allows. Blazer bay, Blue Wave, and, Pathfinder are a few that come to mind that are light for their size. Nautic Star also makes a 21 footer that is light but not their 22 footer.

Don’t go there.

Practical Tactical or Lew’s for BR area.
This isn’t the best time of the year to target trout around GI. The trout will be in transition to the marshes. I’m not saying you can’t get on them but trips can be very inconsistent when compared to summer, spring, and even winter trips.
Jiffy mix receipe but add diced jalapeños.
Exact same menu but Bailey’s was definitely better. They actually seasoned their chicken.

Get a wired one for the most power. I like the rapala heavy duty. I don’t like any of the cordless ones.

However the best cordless one is the Rapala R12. So if you must get cordless then that is the one I recommend.
The 5 gallon bucket would work. Also could do an assortment of gallon bags with water and fish inside of them. Put them in an ice chest and cover with ice. Take out a bag as needed when cooking.
I fish artificial 75% of the time however I have started bringing live bait with me on summertime trips as the water temperature elevates and the fish can get a little more resistant to the plastics. I have definitely had occurrences where the live bait makes a difference. On a trip this year they just wanted live croaker. About 5 boats began closing around us and apparently none of them had live bait as they weren’t catching all while creeping closer to us, like we had some kind of magic spot. We continued to catch until we had a limit. We tried throwing plastics but they wouldn’t touch em.

Non summer fishing I only use artificial.
I have no idea but I tried Gunpowder recently after hearing good reviews and was very disappointed. I didn’t find it anywhere near as good as swagat or bayleaf.

Ronnie’s had them in their freezer last time I was in there. Gets my vote for BR.

presume red is spicy and yellow is added lemon. I prefer lemon with my fish, is all else the same between the batters?

No, they are not the same with different seasoning. Some have higher concentrations of corn meal and others have more corn flour.

I am not a huge fan of Louisiana blue bag. But I am probably in the minority.

Depends on what fish I am frying and what I will be doing with it.

For a delicate sweet fish like sacalait I prefer a batter with more corn four like Zatarains with lemon. However I only like using this in small batches. It doesn’t maintain its crunch in big batches.

For fish poboys or cooking for large groups of people I like a crunchier batter. For a crunchier batter with more corn meal I like Zatarains southern style or more recently Creative Cajun Cooking’s Back Porch Fish fry which has a good lemon flavor.

Ninjas recipe is simple and solid.

Just don’t overcook the shrimp.

Wouldn't that mean it's a seller's market for used?

Look I am no economist or sales expert I just know what I am seeing post the ridiculousness that we saw during the covid years. I see lots of boats sitting on the used market that were selling before. Of course there are exceptions if it’s a highly sought after make/model.
