 Priorities.

But no joke that’s like finding gold floating in the gulf.
We came across a party barge adrift about 30 miles out in the gulf one year. Had Florida registration stickers but it was in poor shape. We caught a pile of chicken dolphin off of it and called it in. A WLF boat happened to be nearby, responded, and towed it in.

re: Amite River catfishing

Ivory soap cut into cubes works great on the upper Amite when the water is cloudy. When it clears up we like cut bait or shiners that we catch ourselves in shiner jugs.

Having said that. I would recommend a short drive to lake Verret or lake Des Allemands as the catfishing has been on fire there. Can easily catch a box full in less than half a day right now.
The political board and these threads are always fun to watch the radicals come out.
What type of fishing do you do?

I originally had a hand control motor for my bay boat and never thought I would need anything else. Went with some other people and saw the possibilities of gps enabled trolling motors.

Did some research and found that the newer upgraded models are light years ahead of the old tech. But they are super expensive.

Saved my arse off and pulled the trigger on the newest Minn Kota instinct. It has really opened up more things I can do that I was never able to do before. The spot lock, drift, and cruise control are amazing.

I will say that if I only fished freshwater it would not me as much of a necessity. However. fishing in saltwater in ripping currents and wind, for me, its a game changer.
Add me to the group of happy owners. I have the 60 inch ZT elite special edition. I was going to get the Kawasaki engine until the special edition became available. But it was available only with an upgraded commercial Kohler engine along with a few other upgrades. 3rd season and so far so good.
Great beginner and do it all boat for South Louisiana. However, if you find yourself starting to fish more big bays, lakes, and open water you are quickly gonna want a glass boat as the aluminum will beat you to death and get you wet on less than ideal weather days.
Yes they are great on the grill. Season liberally with your favorite seasoning brand and then baste during cooking with a lemon butter mix.
I use starbrite nonskid deck cleaner and it works great but it still requires a good bit of scrubbing with a stiff bristle deck brush. Op is asking for something that can be sprayed on and washed off with no scrubbing.
There are plenty of products that will clean but to do what you are asking without any scrubbing they will all be very abrasive and contain acid. Not recommended for the long term care of your boat.

Is this for the inside or outside of the boat?

Best thing I can recommend to make washing easier is to maintain a coat of polish, wash, or ceramic. I use starbrite polish on mine in place of wax and it washes pretty easily with minimal scrubbing.

I know this is a longshot but I would love to volunteer to help with something like that. I know jackshit about such things but if you need a helping hand even just someone to hand you shite I would be all about it, on my off days off course.

re: Keeping croakers alive.

I have a square livewell with a bubbler and have no problems keeping them alive. I do like to periodically pump in some water to the livewell through the day though.
I wrap mine. Reserve some of the liquids afterwards put thru a fat separator and add back in when I pull the meat apart.

Can you find chamber type vacuum sealers for $200 though

No but I spend far more than that on boat, gear, gas, etc. chasing the game so it’s definitely worth the extra 200 for me.

I put the cuts on a piece of parchment paper and freeze before vacuum sealing. Don't have to worry about liquid getting sucked out.

I can see how this would work but I often have large amounts of fish filets (over 50 lbs). That would be a royal pain in the arse to do regularly with large amounts of meat.
Get a chamber vacuum sealer and don’t look back. If you do any kind of fishing regularly it’s a game changer. Moisture will no longer be a problem, you can literally seal up a bag of water. Anytime we make a gumbo or any type of soup the leftovers get vacuum sealed now.

Vevor probably the best value. I have a Cabela’s brand and it’s been awesome. You will have to get different bags. Mine doesn’t like the textured bags and I have to use smooth bags.

Great job. You have such a wealth of knowledge on this subject and are an asset to the board. Although it was not my question I certainly appreciate someone knowledgeable about these things that really helps out guys on this board.
When they were at their original location before they built the place on diversion. When the new Kevins was built on the diversion it wasn’t as good as the original but I still found it was better than Dicarlos which is why you had those wait times. Yes they had a few rough patches but overall most of my experiences were good.
I stopped going couple years ago. I really tried to like it but we had too many bad experiences. Sadly Dicarlos is no where near what Kevin’s was in their prime.
