My parents mailed me a birthday card in mid-June. They live 100 miles away. It never arrived. First of last week, they mailed my daughter a birthday card. It arrived today. 100 miles, 7 days to get here. Pony Express was faster.
I openly hope my local post office gets shutdown. The retards that work there couldn't keep a job flipping burgers. They are only open during times that are at the utmost inconvenience time for someone with a job. In other words, you have to take time off from work to get a package they will not deliver to your house. I have never used them for mailing out ANYTHING, mainly due to ther restrictive hours and their ineptness. I am convinced the average post office employee could not hold down a job at Goodwill.

All I ever get is a pile of trash adds in my mailbox.

Friend,
The USPS is an amazing creation that serves the American people in numerous and unappreciated ways. While it has its problems, the USPS delivered every single one of my 280 Christmas cards last year on time. The cost was just 78 cents, an incredible bargain.
Yours,
TulaneLSU
No wait I want to heat what Peej thinks

I’m still shocked I can drop something in the mail and for less than a dollar, someone will bring it cross country for me.

No. It's time for people to quit bitching about every GD thing

Never gonna happen.
Also, just cause they make a mistake and it aggravates you doesn’t mean they should automatically get fired just cause you want that to happen

I’ve always been pretty happy with my mail carriers. Going and waiting in line at the office is another story. But it’s much better than the DMV or TSA.

The mail works great and is a rounding error in the fee budget. Leave it alone.

It’s a government service because The Constitution actually empowers the Legislative Branch to do this (Article 1 Section 8).

Wait until they try to sue you because they slipped delivering your mail, it’s the new lawyer bread and butter, you heard it here first.

The first thing a private entity would do is cut unprofitable routes. The USPS can't do that, and no profit company would deliver to everyone. That's why it's a government service
Could you imagine a private equity run post office? Holy shite

A private entity could do their job more efficiently and probably for 1/4 of the cost
Can you show us the numbers you used to arrive at this conclusion?
TIA

Here we have another moron who seems to struggle with basic math.
No. No they did not. That did not happen.
Perhaps you meant that they delivered "every single one" of 280 at a cost of "just 78 cents" per card?

Exactly…you can send a letter from Florida to Alaska for under a dollar. And regardless of whst people say, it is pretty damn dependable.
The one exception is that you have to disguise birthday cards or they will not make it to their destination….never put cash in a birthday card.
