Glad to see people speaking the good news about Meeker and the white river area. Very underrated part of the state imo.
Don’t tell anyone. Let them all stay East. Lol. Didn’t do anything in GJ other then fly in/fly out. Very deserty IMO.
Besides Rifle has Lauren Boebert.

Unfortunately, many of the places that were amazing to live in 20 years ago are being overrun by the blues, becoming too crowded, too expensive. It’s ruining what made many of those places great.

It's either Idaho or Florida

AL would be a contender, but too many people there drive like they're batshit insane.
You even state abbreviations, baw?
Unless you were actually suggesting that Alabama is the best state in the country.

Yes. I would like to retire there.

Yes, rural mountainous Colorado is my favorite place on Earth

I lived in Louisiana all my life and moved to Colorado a few months ago. Cost of living sucks. Food is not nearly as good. One thing I didn't expect is how nice so many people are here. People are much friendlier than I thought even in metro areas like Denver.

there's a large contingent of this board that thinks texas is absolute best, just about everywhere else is a shite hole, and everyone who doesn't live in texas is jealous. it's very strange.

Yep, I think the whole concept of Southern Hospitality is a thing of days gone by. We're not the NYC level of rude yet, but it's going that direction.

No idea where this idea about people in Colorado & western states generally comes from in Louisiana. I’ve met nothing but friendly and relatable people out there just living life like the rest of us. If anything, they seem a little more free thinking, which I enjoy but imagine there’s many that are closed off to people of a different worldview. Personally I like someone that challenges me, in a constructive way, to be better or examine my own thoughts.
One of the great things about living in different places and traveling is just that imo. If you actually take the time to converse with people, even if of different backgrounds or beliefs, it’s amazing the commonality you’ll find.
Colorado is absolutely one of the top 5 or so in the U.S. in my subjective opinion (which is all any of us can give) regardless what many on this site will say.

Completely agree. Whenever I see posters talking about how places are “too blue” for them to live in, I just don’t get it. I don’t really care what a persons political leanings are as long as they aren’t an a-hole about it.

They’re called trolls, and it seems like they’ve gotten to you a bit.

Yes. If you want the mountain lifestyle, go to Colorado and stay far, far away from Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.
