Small world, you and MikelBR are besties.

Seriously though, I think it may be time to let ol’ Baw go. My buddy said he preferred arse fishin to bass fishin, it would be the tail end of our relationship.

I did tell him and he and his wife invited me and my wife over and discussed it. She admitted she was in the beginning stages of an affair and they both thanked me.

They are together today 14 years later. I was nervous as hell but he was my friend and so was she. I just kept thinking would I want someone to tell me and I kept saying yes.

I saw him outside and asked if we could talk. I told him my suspicions and my apologies for being the one to say something but that they both mattered to me and their family. 3 kids. It was very hard for me and knew there could be a chance it worked against me and lose their friendship, but I was willing to take that chance at the end of the day. Their family being able to work it out meant more than the friendship I had.

We are friends to this day.

If the good friend was cheating on their spouse and the spouse wasn't a close friend? I'd tell them I'm not going to tell them but don't expect me to keep your secret for you. I'm not lying for anyone.

What the hell does this even mean?

It means what I said. If a friend is cheating on a spouse it’s not my place to tell their spouse if we’re not good friends. But if they expect me to cover for them or their spouse comes asking, I’m not lying for them.

Why is that so hard for you to grasp?

Yup… if either ask I’m letting it go… I’ll say I think you are wrong but figure it out for yourself…

I probably would do that first, for sure. But what is right is right whether its happening to my friend or if its my friend doing it. I'm not going to selectively apply morals.

But what you are doing is sticking your nose in other people’s business. No one appointed you Press Secretary of your town.

STAY OUT OF IT.

This exact situation happened to me, I said something to my friend and he hasn't talked to me in five years.

They ended up getting divorced over her affair but it still ruined a 30 year friendship for me.

Many people have made mistakes, made amends and moved on to be happy. Ignorance is bliss.

Cheating people tend to have things catch up with them one way or another. Don't fall on the sword before they do.

So whether or not your wife is banging another dude isn't your business?

I don't care to be friends with people who are unfaithful to their partners, who should always come before friends. Thats just common sense, and its in the freakin bible

Chaser.

People are just really mad that I'm pointing out that they are bad people.

Girlfriends that aren't that serious? Whatever. Someone's spouse? Whole different ballgame

That speaks on his character, not yours. You did the right thing and told your friend. Him taking it out on you sucks and wasn't right

Is she cheating with me? Otherwise, yes I'd tell him.
